Datuk Mohammad Said bin Yusof (born 15 September 1959) was a member of the Malaysian Parliament in the lower house of the Dewan Rakyat ,representing the constituency of Jasin in the state of Malacca. He is a member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO),the leading party of the governing Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition.
After the dissolution of Parliament on 13 February 2008,Mohammad Said was dropped by BN as a candidate for the seat of Jasin in the 2008 general election,to be replaced by another UMNO-affiliated member,Ahmad Hamzah.
In May 2006,a scandal arose over an MP who allegedly asked the Malaccan Customs and Excise Department for special treatment in the handling of an illegal timber import shipment from Indonesia. After the New Straits Times publicised the issue,Parliamentary Leader of the Opposition Lim Kit Siang from the Democratic Action Party (DAP) moved to refer the issue to the Dewan Rakyat House Rights and Privileges Committee. After the motion failed,the Chairman of the Barisan Nasional Backbenchers Club (BNBBC),Shahrir Abdul Samad,announced his resignation as a matter of principle.
Shortly after,Said announced he was the MP implicated in the scandal. However,he said he had only requested leniency in the case concerned,as the shipment had been confiscated on the basis of a technicality. Although the diameter of the logs concerned exceeded the maximum limit of 152.4 centimetres,Said requested leniency on the behalf of one of his constituents,because the logs had been partially hollowed out. The Department rejected Said's request to simply compound the shipment. Said later told the press that although he felt the decision was right,some discretion should have been exercised to aid the Bumiputra entrepreneur whose interests were affected. [1]
On 10 May 2006,following an exposéby the New Straits Times,Said admitted that the company he was trying to help in the log scandal was in fact his own company,Binyu Sof Enterprise.
In a 9 May 2007 Parliament session,Mohammad Said supported Kinabatangan MP Datuk Bung Mokhtar Radin,who made sexist remarks referencing menstruation against Fong Po Kuan,a female Batu Gajah MP from the Democratic Action Party. The incident occurred during a heated argument with Fong over ceiling leakages in the Parliament Houses,accumulating to both men stating the following in Malay: [2]

Both Mohammad Said and Bung Mokhtar's remark led to an uproar among women's groups. The two MPs would later issue a "public apology" to women "who might have been offended" by their words during a meeting with Women, Family and Community Development Minister Shahrizat Abdul Jalil on 18 May 2007. Mohd Said Yusof died at 28 August 2023 due to heart problems and diabetes. [4]

Sivakumar s/o Varatharaju Naidu, better known as V. Sivakumar, is a Malaysian politician who has served as the Minister of Human Resources in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) administration under Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim since December 2022 and the Member of Parliament (MP) for Batu Gajah since May 2013. He served as Member of the Perak State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Tronoh from March 2008 to May 2013. He also served as Speaker of the assembly from April 2008 to May 2009. The 12th Malaysian Parliament is the last meeting of the legislative branch of the government of Malaysia, the Parliament, comprising the directly elected lower house, the Dewan Rakyat, and the appointed upper house, the Dewan Negara. General elections were held in Malaysia on Wednesday, 9 May 2018. At stake were all 222 seats in the Dewan Rakyat, the lower house of parliament. The 13th Parliament was dissolved by Prime Minister Najib Razak on 7 April 2018. It would have been automatically dissolved on 24 June 2018, five years after the first meeting of the first session of the 13th Parliament of Malaysia on 24 June 2013.

She served as Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department in charge of Parliament and Law in the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration under former Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob and former Minister Wan Junaidi from August 2021 to the collapse of BN administration in November 2022, Deputy Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives in the Perikatan Nasional (PN) administration under former Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin and former Minister Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar from March 2020 to the collapse of the PN administration in August 2021 and the Deputy Minister of Tourism and Culture in the BN administration under former Prime Minister Najib Razak and former Minister Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz from July 2015 to the collapse of the BN administration in May 2018. She is a member of the Malaysian United Indigenous Party (BERSATU), a component party of the PN coalition and was a member of United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), a component party of the BN coalition. She has served as the 2nd Deputy Women Chief of BERSATU since August 2020 and the Women Youth Chief of the UMNO from October 2013 to June 2018. After the defeat of BN to the Pakatan Harapan (PH) opposition coalition in the 2018 general election, she resigned from UMNO in 2018 and joined BERSATU in 2019. She is also the second female PAC chairperson after Noraini Ahmad in Malaysian history.
Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan bin Md Yusof is a Malaysian politician who served as Minister in the Prime Minister's Department for Special Functions in the Perikatan Nasional (PN) administration under former Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin from March 2020 to August 2021, the Minister of Entrepreneur Development in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) administration under former prime minister Mahathir Mohamad from July 2018 to the collapse of the PH administration in February 2020 and the Member of Parliament (MP) for Alor Gajah from May 2018 to November 2022. He is a member of the Malaysian United Indigenous Party (BERSATU), a component party of the PN coalition and formerly PH coalition.
The 2020–2022 Malaysian political crisis was triggered after several Members of Parliament (MPs) of the 14th Malaysian Parliament changed party support, leading to the loss of a parliamentary majority, the collapse of two successive coalition governments, and the resignation of two Prime Ministers. The political crisis culminated in a 2022 snap general election and eventual formation of a coalition government.
Datuk Yusof bin Yacob is a Malaysian politician who has served as Chairman of the Qhazanah Sabah Berhad since January 2023 and the Member of Sabah State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Sindumin since May 2018. He served as State Minister of Education and Innovation of Sabah in the Heritage Party (WARISAN) state administration under former Chief Minister Shafie Apdal from May 2018 to the collapse of the WARISAN administration in September 2020, Deputy Speaker of the Dewan Rakyat from May 2004 to December 2007 and Member of Parliament (MP) for Sipitang from April 1995 to March 2008. He is a member of the Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (GAGASAN), a component party of the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) coalition. He was a member of the WARISAN, before leaving the party on 8 October 2021 to become an independent in support of the ruling GRS coalition. He was also member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), a component party of the Barisan Nasional (BN) which he left in 2018. On 22 May 2022, he confirmed that he had applied to rejoin and was pending return to BN and UMNO after leaving them four years ago. However, his application was not accepted before he withdrew the application and joined GAGASAN instead on 21 January 2023.
Mohamad Ali bin Mohamad is a Malaysian politician and teacher who served as 14th Deputy President of the Dewan Negara from December 2020 and the Senator from May 2020 to May 2023. He is also a member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), a component party of the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition. He served as the State Deputy Chairman of UMNO of Melaka from July 2018 to March 2023 and Division Chief of UMNO of Tangga Batu.
The 2021 Malacca state election, formally the 15th Malacca state election, took place on 20 November 2021. This election was to elect 28 members of the 15th Malacca State Legislative Assembly. The previous assembly was dissolved on 4 October 2021.
United Malays National Organisation of Sabah, also abbreviated as Sabah UMNO, is a branch of a political party in Sabah, Malaysia. Sabah UMNO supported and was part of the federal government under Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. Sabah UMNO also had one elected representatives holding a deputy ministerial positions respectively in the Anwar Ibrahim cabinet.
The 2023 Sabah political crisis or widely reported on local media as Langkah Kinabalu or the Kinabalu Move, began on 6 January 2023, when the state government of Sabah led by Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) collapsed when its coalition party Barisan Nasional (BN) withdrew its support. The Leader of UMNO Sabah, a component party of BN, Bung Moktar Radin, Kinabatangan Member of Parliament (MP) and Lamag Assemblyman, cited a lack of confidence in the leadership of Chief Minister of Sabah Hajiji Noor in the withdrawal. UMNO Sabah want to change support from supporting GRS coalition to supporting the WARISAN Plus coalition. On 9 January, both Malaysian leaders, prime minister Anwar Ibrahim and deputy prime minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi travelled to Kota Kinabalu to meet with Sabah political leaders. This crisis resulted to approval of Anti-Switching Parties Law in Sabah (approved in 25 May 2023).
