Mohd Firdaus Jaafar (born 15 March 1974) is a Malaysian politician of Parti Amanah Negara (AMANAH),a component party of Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition. He was the Member of Parliament of Malaysia for the Jerai constituency in Kedah for one term from 2008 to 2013. He was a member of Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS) before joining AMANAH in 2016. Firdaus was elected to the Jerai seat in the 2008 election,defeating incumbent Badruddin Amiruldin of the ruling Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition. [1] Prior to the election,Firdaus was a religious teacher (Malay : Ustaz ). [2] He was defeated in the 2013 election by BN's Jamil Khir Baharom. [3]

He is currently the Permanent Chairman of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO),the largest Malay political party in the country and the leader of the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition. Badruddin was also,until his defeat in the March 2008 General Elections,the Member of Parliament for the constituency of Jerai,Kedah in the lower house of Parliament,the Dewan Rakyat.
Khalid bin Abdul Samad is a Malaysian politician who served as the Minister of Federal Territories in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) administration under former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad from July 2018 to the collapse of the PH administration in February 2020 and the Member of Parliament (MP) for Shah Alam from March 2008 to November 2022.
