Mardan District is a district in Mardan Division of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in Pakistan. The district is named after Mardan city, which is also the headquarters of the district. The district is famous for its agriculture industry, Peerah(پیڑا) the famous sooghaat of mardan and for its archaeological sites of Takht-i-Bhai, Jamal Garhi and Sawal Dher.

Lund Khwar, also Lundkhwar | Urdu: لوندخوڑ) and pronounced "/Lu:/+/nd/, /Kh/+/va'/+/r:/" is a historical village and union council of Takht Bhai Tehsil in Mardan District of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. It is located at 34°23'22 N 71°58'51 E, with an altitude of 371 metres (1220 feet). The name "Lund Khwar" literally means "the ever-flowing stream or brook". Origins of the founding of Lund Khwar are shrouded in mystery. Archaeological and historical evidence clue towards the Gandharan era. Earliest written accounts of the village trace it back to the 8th century, with the arrival of the Uthman Khel branch of the Yousafzai, and in the 15th century, by the Khattak tribesmen of the Afghans. Currently it is a major town near the entrance to the Malakand mountains. Alternatively, there is also a Lund Khwar in the Paktika Province of Afghanistan.
The Ghoryakhel also known as ghoriah khel and Bar Durranis by Ahmad Shah Abdali sometimes referred as Ghori by some authors is a Pashtun supertribe which consists of tribes led by the son of Kand, son of Kharshbun, son of Sarban, and son of Qais Abdur Rashid, who lived in Ghwara Marghay Arghistan Qandahar but mostly settled in Ghazni on the basin of Tarnak River and Nangarhar, Logar, Kabul, Kunar, Paktia, Kunduz,Zabul,Herat of Afghanistan while S. Daudzai also Resides in Hilmand and are also living in Kabul, Afghanistan, which is the largest Pashtun tribe living in Kabul for Century.
Khaglan Wala (ڪھگلانواله) is a village and union council of Isakhel Tehsil of Mianwali District in the Punjab province of Pakistan. It is part of Isa Khel Tehsil and is located at 32°37'60N 71°16'0E. It is located on the northern bank of Kurram River. It is one of the villages situated on the western borders of Punjab province adjacent to KPK province. Its population is about 3000 people. It is a comparatively developed village as basic facilities like electricity, telephone, metalled road, internet, schools, water supply system and sewerage system are provided to the inhabitants of this village. It is also a well-planned village situated on a 40 feet wide road. A 30' main street runs east to west through the village by equally dividing the entire village into two parts. Three other streets run north to south crossing the main street at 90°. The scene of river Kurram alongside bela jungle give beautiful look to this historical village. Khaglanwala is a hub of different routes coming from various villages situated on other side of the River Kurram to reach Isa Khel city.

Mardan Cantonment is located in the 2nd largest city of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in Mardan and is the only cantonment in Mardan District and Mardan Division. It is the centre of one of the most renowned regiment of Pakistan Army - The Punjab Regiment. The cantonment has a large area for training and offices. Mardan once served as a base for British troops, who never managed to fully control the region's Pashtun tribes. Now it is home to the Pakistan Air Force Academy, at the Risalpur air base; and the Pakistan Army's School of Artillery and School of Armor and Mechanized Warfare.

The Akakhel, pronounced Akaa Khel or Akakhail, are a Pashtun sub-tribe of the Ghilji/Ghilzais confederation. Their mother language is Pashto. The exact population number of this clan is not known; however, it is estimated to be around 2 million all around the world The population of this tribe primarily lives in Pakistan and Afghanistan. 85% live in Pakistan and about 1% or 2% live in Afghanistan and remaining 13% lives in England, Germany, United Arab Emirates, China, Malaysia, Canada and United States of America.

Par Hoti is a village and union council in Mardan District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Par Hoti is situated across the Kalpani ravine which splits the Hoti, Mardan area and also acts as key stream for agriculture across the city.
