Mohnish Dinesh Mishra (born 9 February 1984) is an Indian cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm off-break bowler. [1] He was banned from Indian cricket over signing up with the rebel ICL. Subsequently,Mishra left the ICL and,following an amnesty offer from BCCI,returned to Indian domestic cricket. [2]
A middle-order batsman,Mishra made his first-class cricket debut for Madhya Pradesh against Railways in 2000/01 at the age of 16. [3] However,he played just two games in that season. [4] He also represented India at the ICC Under-19 World Cup in 2002. [5] He then went through a period of four years without competitive cricket as he failed to impress the selectors of his state team. He made a comeback during the 2005/06 season,but his domestic career was cut short after he signed up with the Delhi Giants team in the now-defunct Indian Cricket League. Eventually,the BCCI revoked its ban on the ICL players and Mishra returned to playing for his state team in 2009 and has been a regular member of the playing XI ever since. He signed up for Deccan Chargers in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2010. [6] Mishra went on to play 11 matches for them that season. He had a highly successful first-class season in 2010/11 as he accumulated 718 runs in 9 matches at an average of 59.83. In 2011,he signed a contract with the new IPL franchise Pune Warriors India. He was suspended on 15 May 2012 over spot-fixing,after a local news channel, India TV accused him along with four other players based on a sting operation. [8] After the corruption probe in June,Mishra was handed a one-year ban for bringing the game into disrepute while his Madhya Pradesh teammate TP Sudhindra was given a life-ban after he was found guilty of the charges. After finishing at the bottom of the points table in the first season,they won the second season held in South Africa in 2009 under the captaincy of former Australian wicket-keeper-batsman Adam Gilchrist. Gilchrist was the captain of the team for the first three seasons of the IPL with Rohit Sharma as his deputy. The 2012 Indian Premier League spot-fixing case was a controversy which arose during the 2012 Indian Premier League and led to the banning of five cricketers. It started when a Hindi news channel,India TV,aired a sting operation which accused five players of seeking money in exchange for spot-fixing. Bans were imposed on all five,with a life-ban on Deccan Chargers's TP Sudhindra,a five-year ban on Kings XI Punjab's Shalabh Srivastava,and a one-year ban on Pune Warriors India's Mohnish Mishra and Kings XI Punjab's Amit Yadav. In addition Abhinav Bali,who was not in contact with any team during the 2012 season,was banned for a year. In the sting operation,Bali claimed to have spot-fixed during the 2009 season. According to the sting operation,some of the players revealed that they had received more money from the franchises' owners than agreed on in the players' auction;they said that this money was black money.
Ishwar Chand Pandey is an Indian cricketer who played for Madhya Pradesh. He was a right-arm medium-fast bowler who was the leading wicket-taker of the 2012–13 Ranji Trophy. He played for India A and was selected in the Indian Test and ODI squads for the New Zealand tour of 2014.
