This was the territory's second appearance in a Winter Olympic Games following their debut in the 1992 Albertville Olympics. The only Bermudian athlete was luge racer Simon Payne. In the men's singles, he came in 30th place.

Deividas Stagniūnas is a Lithuanian former ice dancer. With Isabella Tobias, he is the 2011 Skate America bronze medalist and placed in the top ten at two European Championships. They represented Lithuania at the 2014 Winter Olympics, where Stagniūnas was the flagbearer.

Toby Kane Australian para-alpine skier

Dr Toby Kane is an Australian Paralympian who won a bronze medal in the men's super G Standing at the 2006 Winter Paralympics in Torino and a bronze medal in the men's super G standing in his third Winter Paralympics at the 2014 Winter Paralympics in Sochi. Invited to join the Australian Winter Paralympic Development team when he was just 11, he became the youngest member of the Australian team in Torino at the age of 19. He had the honour of being Australia's flag bearer at the closing ceremony in Torino, and at the opening ceremony in Vancouver. Towards the end of the Sochi Games, Kane and Dutch snowboarder Bibian Mentel-Spee were named winners of the Whang Youn Dai Achievement Award, which is presented at every Paralympic Games for outstanding performances and overcoming adversity.

Cameron Rahles-Rahbula Australian Paralympic alpine skier

Cameron Rahles-Rahbula is a former Paralympic alpine skier from Australia. He won two bronze medals at the 2010 Winter Paralympics in Vancouver. He represented Australia in four Paralympics, stating with the 2002 Winter Paralympics in Salt Lake City and the 2006 Winter Paralympics in Torino. He did not compete in any events at the 2014 Winter Paralympics in Sochi due to knee and ankle injuries suffered during the warm up for the downhill event of the Games but carried the Australian flag in the Parade of Nations at the Opening Ceremony. He also won two gold medals and a silver medal at the 2004 IPC Alpine Skiing World Championships in Wildschönau, Austria, and a gold and a bronze medal at the 2009 World Championships in Jeongseon, Korea. He retired after the Sochi Games.

Jenly Tegu Wini is Solomons Islander weightlifter. She competed in the 2012 Summer Olympics at the women's 58 kg category. She was flagbearer of Solomon Islands sports team in the opening ceremony. In the event, Wini finished in 17th.

Pavlos Kontides Cypriot sailor

Pavlos Kontides is a Cypriot sailor. He became the first Cypriot athlete ever to win an Olympic medal for his country, by winning the silver medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the Men's Laser class behind Tom Slingsby. On Tuesday 19 of September 2017, Kontides took the 1st place in 2017 ILCA World Championship in Split, Croatia, becoming a World Champion. He won the championship again in 2018, as well as a silver in 2013.

The sixth Intervision Song Contest was originally planned as a revival of the Intervision Song Contest to be organised in the Russian city of Sochi, which played host to the 2014 Winter Olympics. Eligible countries that were permitted to compete in the contest would have been from the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation and former Soviet Republics.

Maria Natalia Londa is an Indonesian track and field athlete who competes in the long jump and triple jump. She represented Indonesia at the World Championships in Athletics in 2007 and has appeared once at the Asian Games (2014). She won the gold medal at the 2014 Asian Games in the long jump. She also won two gold medals at the 2013 Southeast Asian Games and two gold medals at the 2015 Southeast Asian Games.

Mary Opeloge is a Samoan weightlifter. She competed in the women's 75 kg event at the 2014 Commonwealth Games where she won a silver medal. She won Gold at the 2016 Oceania Weightlifting Championships.

Kirstie Alora Filipina taekwondo practitioner

Kirstie Elaine Alora is a Filipina taekwondo practitioner. She represented the Philippines at the 2016 Summer Olympics after winning the silver medal at the Asian Olympic Qualifying Tournament.
