The FIFA Futsal World Cup is an international futsal competition contested by the senior men's national teams of the member associations of FIFA, the sport's global governing body. Since the first edition that took place in 1989 in the Netherlands, the tournament has been held every four years since 1992 in the even year between two 11-a-side World Cups.
The Iran national futsal team represents Iran in international futsal competitions and is controlled by the Futsal Commission of the Iranian Football Federation. According to the Futsal World Ranking, it is ranked 5th in the world, and 1st amongst Asian Football Confederation members.
The Futsal Africa Cup of Nations is the main national futsal competition of the Confederation of African Football nations. It was first held in 1996 and has been played every four years. It is a qualification to FIFA Futsal World Cup.
The Japan national futsal team, nicknamed Samurai Five, represents Japan in international futsal competitions and is controlled by the Japan Football Association.
The Portugal national futsal team represents Portugal in international men's futsal competitions and is controlled by the Portuguese Football Federation. They are the reigning FIFA Futsal World Cup champions, the current and back-to-back winners of the UEFA Futsal Championship, and the first team to win the Futsal Finalissima.
The Iran women's national futsal team represents Iran in international women's futsal, and is controlled by the Iran Football Federation.

The Thailand national futsal team represents Thailand in international futsal competitions and is controlled by the Football Association of Thailand.
The Tunisian national futsal team, nicknamed Les Aigles de Carthage , represents Tunisia in international futsal competitions. It is affiliated to the Tunisian Football Federation.
The Egyptian national futsal team represents Egypt during international futsal competitions. It is governed by the Egyptian Football Association and won the Africa Futsal Cup of Nations a record three times. They have also represented Africa in the FIFA Futsal World Cup, with seven appearances.
The England national futsal team represents England during international futsal competitions such as the FIFA Futsal World Cup and the European Championships. It is under the direction of The Football Association. Although futsal in England has been around for a number of years, the national team was first formed in 2003, after futsal started to gain popularity in 2002.
The Colombia national futsal team represents Colombia in international futsal competitions. It is overseen by the Colombian Football Federation in FIFA competitions and by the Fecolfutsal in AMF competitions.
The Indonesia national futsal team represents Indonesia in international futsal competitions. Indonesia has played fourteen times at the AFF Futsal Championship and nine times at the AFC Futsal Asian Cup. The team never participates in any World Cup but has won the AFF Futsal Championship only once in 2010. While under the ultimate control of Indonesia's football governing body, PSSI, the one who regulates the activities of the national futsal team is the Indonesia Futsal Federation—futsal governing body of Indonesia and a member association of PSSI.
The Uzbekistan national futsal team is controlled by the Uzbekistan Football Federation, the governing body for futsal in Uzbekistan and represents the country in international futsal competitions, such as the World Cup and the AFC Futsal Championship.

The team is controlled by the governing body for association football in Australia, Football Federation Australia (FFA), which is currently a member of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and the regional ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) since leaving the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) in 2006.
The 2016 Africa Futsal Cup of Nations was the sixth edition of the Africa Futsal Cup of Nations, the quadrennial international futsal championship organised by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for the men's national teams of Africa. The tournament was held in South Africa between 15–24 April 2016. A total of eight teams played in the tournament.
The 2024 Futsal Africa Cup of Nations will be the eighth edition of the Futsal Africa Cup of Nations, the quadrennial international futsal championship organised by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for the men's national teams of Africa. The tournament was first planed to be held in Mozambique. However Mozambique declined after, to host the competition. Morocco announced the organization of the tournament for the second time in a row.
