Established in 1948, Mr. Bronsplein is a large sports complex located on the Gemenelandsweg, in Paramaribo, Suriname. [1]
Before World War II the field was already used for association football matches, and was known in the Sranantongo language as "Lanti Djari". In 1946 the initiative was taken to introduce organized matches and competitions to the field by Frits Juda. J. Sleur and Walther. Between 1946 and 1952 organized matches were held on the pitch, with the introduction of the Bronsplein Sport Bond organizing committee in 1952. [1]
On 23 February 1948 the complex was officially named the Mr. Bronsplein Sportterrein, named after colonial governor Johannes Cornelis Brons who was governor of Surinam from 20 September 1945 to 5 July 1948. The board of directors of the Sport terrain at the time were P.H. Emanuels (chairman), J. Sleur (secretary), A. Holland (treasurer), L. Wijks, and F. Juda en Hooten (commissioners). Both Ajax and SV Arsenal were able to win national championship titles as tenants of the Bronsplein; Ajax in 1926–27, 1928–29, 1929–30 and SV Arsenal in 1938–39, 1939–40 seasons. [1] [2]

Amsterdamsche Football Club Ajax, also known as AFC Ajax, Ajax Amsterdam, or simply Ajax, is a Dutch professional football club based in Amsterdam, that plays in the Eredivisie, the top tier in Dutch football. Sport Vereniging Robinhood is a Surinamese football club based in Paramaribo that competes in the SVB Eerste Divisie, the highest level of football in Suriname. Founded on 6 February 1945, Robinhood is the most successful club in Surinamese football, having won a record 24 league titles, and a record of five Beker van Surinames and President's Cups apiece. The club was the first Surinamese club to make the final of a North American tournament, reaching the 1972 CONCACAF Champions' Cup final. Though making five CONCACAF club championship finals in their history, Robinhood has never won a continental title.

Ronald Wilfried Kolf is a former Surinamese football manager and player who last served as the technical director of the Suriname national team and a board member of Surinamese football club S.V. Leo Victor.
Paul Leonard Kogeldans, known as Leo Kogeldans, is a former Surinamese footballer and manager who has played for V.V. Ajax and S.V. Voorwaarts in the Surinamese Hoofdklasse, and for VVV-Venlo in the Dutch Eredivisie. He also played for the Suriname national team. After his career he was manager of Dutch amateur club V.C.H.
Humbert Ronald Boerleider, known as Boelie, was a Surinamese football manager and player who played as a midfielder in the Surinamese Hoofdklasse for S.V. Transvaal. He also played one season in the SVB Derde Klasse for V.V. Ajax before returning to Transvaal. He was an assistant coach for Fortuna Sittard in the Netherlands, and managed S.V. Transvaal and the Suriname national team for the nations 1974 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign.
Herman Harry Rijkaard was a Surinamese footballer who played as a forward for S.V. Robinhood in the SVB Hoofdklasse, F.C. Blauw-Wit in the Dutch Eredivisie, and for IJ.V.V. Stormvogels in the Eerste Divisie.
Stanley Duyzer was a Surinamese football manager and player who played the majority of his career as a midfielder in the Hoofdklasse for S.V. Robinhood. He later managed the youth teams of Robinhood under head coach Ronald Kolf for the remainder of his career.

Iwan Otto "Pietje" Fränkel, was a Surinamese International football player who has played for Transvaal in the Hoofdklasse, Blauw-Wit in the Dutch Eredivisie, Schwarz-Weiß Essen in the Regionalliga West in West Germany, Royal Antwerp F.C. in the Belgian Eerste Klasse and for SC Amersfoort in the Dutch Eerste Divisie.
