Fortuna 1975 Lelydorp is a Surinamese football club based in Lelydorp, Suriname. They currently participate in the Surinamese Eerste Klasse, the second-highest tier of football in Suriname.^[1]

Lelydorp is the capital city of Wanica District, located in Suriname. With a population of 18,663 (2012), it is the second largest city in Suriname, after Paramaribo.

It is based in Paramaribo, and is a founding member of CONCACAF and a member of FIFA.

Indo-Surinamese or Indian-Surinamese, are nationals of Suriname with ancestry from the Indian subcontinent. Their ancestors were Indian indentured workers brought by the Dutch and the British to the (then) Dutch colony Suriname during the 19th and 20th century. Per the 2012 Census of Suriname, 148,443 citizens of Suriname are of Indo-Surinamese origin, constituting 27.4% of the total population, making them the largest ethnic group in Suriname.

The Topklasse is the highest football championship for clubs run by the Surinaamse Voetbal Bond. The Topklasse is at the top of the system of Surinamese football championships. The league currently comprises twelve teams and operates a system of promotion and relegation. Seasons run from November to June of the next year, with teams playing 22 games in the regular season. The league was known as the Hoofdklasse but became Topklasse beginning with the 2016–17 season. The Hoofdklasse name is now used by the former Eerste Klasse, the second division of Suriname.

The Surinaamse Voetbal Bond (SVB) Hoofdklasse is second-highest division overall in the Surinamese football league system after the Topklasse, where the top club is promoted to each season. The weakest club is relegated to the Lidbondentoernooi. The league was previously known as the SVB Eerste Klasse but became the Hoofdklasse for the 2016–17 season after Suriname's top division changed its name from Hoofdklasse to Topklasse.

Javanese Surinamese people are an ethnic group of Javanese descent in Suriname. They have been present since the late 19th century, when their first members were selected as indentured laborers by the Dutch colonizers from the former Dutch East Indies.

Crystal Leefmans is a Surinamese badminton player. In 2010, she won the bronze medals at the Medellín South American Games in the mixed doubles and team event. In 2011, she won the mixed doubles title at the Carebaco International tournament in the individuals event of the Carebaco Games partnered with Mitchel Wongsodikromo. Leefmans was also the champion at the Suriname International tournament in 2012 and 2013. In 2018 she won the mixed doubles Carebaco International title again at home, this time partnering compatriot Dylan Darmohoetomo.

Ivenzo Comvalius, is a Surinamese professional football player who plays for Slovak Fortuna Liga side AS Trenčín and the Surinamese national team.
