Surinamese Footballer of the Year

The title Surinamese Footballer of the Year (Voetballer van het Jaar) has been awarded in Suriname since 1964. The award is determined by a poll of Surinamese sports journalists as members of the VSJS (Vereniging van Sportjournalisten in Suriname) established in 2014, replacing the SOC (Suriname Olympic Committee) who determined the winners in the years prior. André Kamperveen Stadium, formerly the National Stadion, is a multi-purpose stadium in Paramaribo, Suriname. Since its opening in 1953, the stadium has been the official home stadium of both football teams S.V. Transvaal and S.V. Robinhood and the official national stadium of the Suriname national football team. With an official capacity of 7,100, it is the largest stadium in Suriname.

S.V. Leo Victor

Sport Vereniging Leo Victor, known as SV Leo Victor, is a Surinamese football club which currently plays in the Topklasse. They play their home games in Paramaribo at the Dr. Ir. Franklin Essed Stadion.

The title Dutch Footballer of the Year has been awarded in the Netherlands since 1984. The award is determined by a poll of Dutch professional footballers playing in the First (Eredivisie) and Second leagues.

S.V. Notch

Sporting Vereniging Notch is a Surinamese football club based in Moengo, Marowijne. The club presently competes in the Surinamese Hoofdklasse, the top tier of Surinamese football. Notch earned promotion into the Hoofdklasse after winning the Surinamese Eerste Klasse, the second tier of Surinamese football. The club kit manufacturer is Jako.

Sportvereniging Nationaal Leger

Sportvereniging Nationaal Leger, known as SNL, is the Surinamese football club of the national military, which currently plays in the SVB Topklasse. They play their home games in Paramaribo at the Dr. Ir. Franklin Essed Stadion.

S.V. Nishan 42

Sport Vereniging Nishan 42 is a Surinamese football club based in Meerzorg. They begin their first season in the Surinamese Hoofdklasse in 2015–16, following promotion from the SVB Eerste Klasse. They won their first Beker van Suriname, Suriname's top cup tournament, during the 2014–15 season. Then they played the President's Cup in 2015 and won it for the first time also.

Errol 'Emau' Rudolph Emanuelson is a retired Surinamese footballer who played as a forward for SV Robinhood in the Hoofdklasse, and for the Suriname national team. He also spent a loan spell in Belgium playing for Sint-Niklaas.

Roché Emanuelson is a Surinamese footballer who plays as a defender for Boma Star in the Hoofdklasse, and for the Suriname national team. He has also played for SV Transvaal, SV Robinhood, Royal '95 and SV Leo Victor in the past.

Edwien Reinier Schal, known as Wiene Schal is a retired Surinamese footballer who started his career as a forward for SV Transvaal in the Hoofdklasse, and for the Suriname national team. A striker for the majority of his career, he was utilized more as defender towards the end of his career. He is considered one of the greatest footballers in the countries history, having captained SV Transvaal to two CONCACAF Champions Cups and five national titles, in what is considered the golden age of the club's history.

Frits Purperhart

Frits Lambertus Purperhart (1944–2016) was a Surinamese football manager and player, a member of the Suriname Olympic Committee board of directors as well as being a board member for the National broadcasting network Telesur in Suriname.

Rinaldo Stanley Entingh was a Surinamese footballer and entrepreneur. He played as a midfielder in the SVB Hoofdklasse for S.V. Robinhood and for the Suriname national team.

Siegfried Haltman, known as Siki, is a retired Surinamese football player who played for S.V. Robinhood, América Futebol Clube (PE), Baltimore Bays, AZ'67 and for the Suriname national team during the span of his career. In 1964 he won the Surinamese Footballer of the Year award, becoming the first recipient of the award since its inception.

Gleofilo Vlijter is a Surinamese footballer who currently plays in Israel for Beitar Jerusalem, and the Suriname national team.

Kenneth Ramon Kluivert is a Surinamese former footballer who played as a left winger for S.V. Robinhood in the SVB Hoofdklasse, and for the Suriname national team.

Roy Vanenburg is a Surinamese football manager and former player, who was last manager of Hoofdklasse club S.V. Transvaal. He spent most of his professional playing career with S.V. Transvaal, winning six Hoofdklasse titles, and two CONCACAF Champions Cups, finishing as the league top scorer in both 1968 and in 1971. He had previously played for H.V.V. and S.V. Robinhood before joining Transvaal in 1967.

Wensley Rinaldo Bundel is a former Surinamese football manager and player who last managed S.V. Transvaal in the Surinamese Hoofdklasse.

Arnod Gerrit Niekoop is a former Surinamese football player, referee and board member of the Surinamese Football Association, as well as board member and former chairman of the Surinamese Refereeing Commission.

Jules Theodorus Lagadeau, was a Surinamese football player and manager who has played for S.V. Transvaal in the Hoofdklasse and for the Suriname national team.

SVB Derde Divisie

The SVB Derde Divisie is an annual football tournament organized by the Surinamese Football Association (SVB) since 2006. It is also known as the SURIBET Lidbondentoernooi due to sponsorship. The tournament is contested by the winners and runners-up of the districts leagues from the 20 regional member associations of the SVB. The winner and runner-up of the tournament can then qualify for the SVB Eerste Klasse, the 2nd tier of football in Suriname. In 2017, the competition was rebranded as the SVB Derde Divisie.

Gregory Pokie is a Surinamese professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for SVB Eerste Divisie club Broki.
