The Foreign Player of the Year in Romania is an association football award presented to players in Romania, which recognises the most outstanding foreign player in the country each calendar year. It was started in 2008 by Gazeta Sporturilor, a daily sports newspaper, and the winner is usually announced at the end of December.

The 2011–12 Moldovan National Division was the 21st season of top-tier football in Moldova. The competition began on 23 July 2011 and ended on 23 May 2012.

The Moldovan Sportspersonality of the Year is chosen annually since 2005 by the national Ministry of Youth and Sports. In addition, the best female athlete is nominated each year and the best trainer.

The Alexandru cel Bun Military Academy is the main military academy of Moldova. The mission of academy is to prepare officers for service in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Moldova in compliance with Euro-Atlantic requirements on infantry, artillery, communication, border guards and carabineers. It is named after Alexander I of Moldavia, who ruled the country as Voivode (Prince) from 1400 and 1432. Candidates for admission into the academy must pass an IQ test, as well as a physical training test.

The 2018 Moldovan National Division was the 28th season of top-tier football in Moldova. The season started on 1 April 2018 and ended on 24 November 2018. Fixtures were announced on 19 March 2018. Sheriff Tiraspol were the defending champions. The winners of the league this season earned a spot in the first qualifying round of the 2019–20 UEFA Champions League, and the second, third and fourth placed clubs earned a place in the first qualifying round of the 2019–20 UEFA Europa League.

The 2020 Moldovan Federation Cup or the 2020Cupa Federației is the first edition of the annual tournament in Republic of Moldova. This tournament is divided into 2 groups of 5 teams.
