The Meerzorg Stadium is located along the Oost-Westverbinding in the Southeast part of Meerzorg, Commewijne District across the Suriname river from the capital city Paramaribo. [2]

S.V. Robinhood

Sport Vereniging Robinhood is a Surinamese football club based in Paramaribo that competes in the SVB Topklasse, the highest level of football in Suriname. Founded on 6 February 1945, Robinhood is the most successful club in Surinamese football, having won a record 24 league titles, and a record of five Beker van Surinames and President's Cups apiece. The club was the first Surinamese club to make the final of a North American tournament, reaching the 1972 CONCACAF Champions' Cup final. Though making five CONCACAF club championship finals in their history, Robinhood has never won a continental title.

Four teams from Central America and five from the Caribbean will qualify to the 2011 CONCACAF U-20 Championship to be played in Guatemala. Canada, Mexico, and United States automatically qualified.

S.V. Excelsior

SV Excelsior is an amateur football club from the Commewijne District town of Meerzorg, Suriname. The club was founded in the late 1920s and spent most of its tenure in the top flight of Surinamese football. Recently, the club had been in a dry spell, and spend time in the second tier of Surinamese football, only recently to be promoted back into the Hoofdklasse.

Dr. Ir. Franklin Essed Stadion formerly known as the Flora Stadion and commonly called the Frank Essed Stadion is a multi-purpose stadium in Paramaribo, Suriname. It is home to SVB Hoofdklasse club SV Leo Victor and SVB Eerste Klasse outfits, SV Cosmos, Royal '95 and Super Red Eagles. It is also the home stadium of SNL, the football club of the national military of Suriname, competing in the Eerste Klasse. The stadium was named after Surinamese politician and forestry scientist Frank Essed.

S.V. Walking Boyz Company also SV WBC or WBC, is a Surinamese association football club based in Paramaribo. They have won the Surinamese Hoofdklasse title three times. The club play at the Essed Stadion with a capacity of 3,500 spectators, which is also the National Stadium and is shared with several clubs.

The NGVB Stadion is an association football stadium in Paramaribo, Suriname. It is home to SVB Eerste Klasse club PVV, the football club of the Surinamese police force. The stadium also serves as a primary stadium for the SVB Eerste Klasse, and the occasional Hoofdklasse fixture. The stadium is owned and operated by the N.G.V.B. a member association of the SVB.

Leo Schipper was a Surinamese football manager and player who played for NAKS, SV Transvaal, SV Robinhood and the Suriname national team. After his playing career he took on a coaching role with SV Robinhood, becoming manager of the club before passing the torch to Ronald Kolf.

Sport Vereniging Papatam is an association football club from Albina, Suriname. The club currently compete in the SVB Eerste Klasse, the 2nd tier of football in Suriname. In 2013 their home stadium the Albina Stadium was completed by the Albina Sport Bond, with a capacity of 1,000 people.

The 2016–17 Telesur Topklasse is the 84th season of top tier Suriname football league and 1st season of the Topklasse, the highest football league competition of Suriname. The season began in November 2016, and ended in June 2017. Telesur became official broadcaster and sponsor of the Topklasse before the start of this season.
