Suriname or Surinam, officially known as the Republic of Suriname, is a country on the northeastern Atlantic coast of South America. It is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean to the north, French Guiana to the east, Guyana to the west, and Brazil to the south. At just under 165,000 square kilometers, it is the smallest sovereign state in South America.

Totness is a town in Suriname, located in the Coronie district, of which it is the capital. Totness is the oldest settlement in the district.
Jenny is a town on the East-West Link in Suriname, located in the Welgelegen resort of Coronie district. It lies on the mouth of the Coppename River opposite the town of Boskamp, to which it is linked by the Coppename bridge.
Letitia Alma Vriesde is a female former track and field athlete from Suriname, who specialised in the 800 metres but was also successful over 1500 metres. She is the first sportsperson from Suriname to compete at five Olympic Games. She won a silver medal at the 1995 World Championships and a bronze medal at the 2001 World Championships. Vriesde holds the South American records for the 800 metres, 1000 metres and 1500 metres and also for the 3000 metres (indoors).
André Kamperveen Stadium, formerly the National Stadion, is a multi-purpose stadium in Paramaribo, Suriname. Since its opening in 1953, the stadium has been the official home stadium of both football teams S.V. Transvaal and S.V. Robinhood and the official national stadium of the Suriname national football team. With an official capacity of 7,100, it is the largest stadium in Suriname.
Friendship is a town in the Totness resort in the Coronie district in Suriname. Friendship is a former cotton plantation founded in 1824. The village of Friendship is to the north of the East-West Link, and Totness is to the south of the road. A clinic is located in the town, and serves both Totness and Friendship. The school in Totness is shared with Friendship.
Boskamp is a town on the East-West Link in Suriname, in the central north of the country, in the Calcutta resort of the Saramacca District. It lies opposite to Jenny, to which it is connected via the Coppename bridge. Boskamp is mainly a fishing village.
Johanna Maria is a town and resort in Suriname, located in the Coronie District. Its population at the 2012 census was 648. The town is named the cotton plantation Johanna Maria founded in 1801 which was owned by Johanna Maria Christina van Onna from 1863 onwards. The coast line subject to flooding and erosion caused by the degradation of the mangrove forests. Plans have been drawn up to construct a 12 kilometre long dike near the coast.
Welgelegen is a resort in Suriname, located in the Coronie District. Its population at the 2012 census was 593. Welgelegen started as a cotton plantation in 1824. The church of Welgelegen was consecrated on 1 November 1883, but wasn't built at the spot. It was first erected on Cardross Park, and later moved to its current location. The church is no longer in service.
Nacionello Stadion is an association football stadium in Houttuin, Wanica District, Suriname. It is home to SVB Eerste Klasse club FCS Nacional. The stadium was built in 2003 and seats 1,500 people
Sportvereniging Coronie Boys is an association football club from Totness, Suriname. Having spent spells in both the Hoofdklasse and Eerste Klasse, the club currently compete in the lower divisions of Surinamese football.
George W. Streepy Stadion is an association football stadium in Paramaribo, Suriname. It is home to the SVB Youth League and is operated by the SVB's youth football section. The stadium has a capacity of 3,000 people.
Football Club West United is a Surinamese football club based in Totness, Coronie District, Suriname. The club presently compete in the Eerste Klasse, the 2nd tier of Surinamese football.
The Sports Hall of Fame Suriname is a museum on sports in Paramaribo, Suriname. It is located in the building of the Suriname Olympic Committee, aside the André Kamperveen Stadion.
