Muirkirk Football Club are a Scottish football club, based in the village of Muirkirk, East Ayrshire. Nicknamed the Kirk, they were formed in 1937, and they play at Burnside Park. Currently playing in the West of Scotland League Second Division.

The team has been managed by Kevin Muirhead, formerly of Newmains United and Hamilton Accies, since October 2017 replacing George Grierson. [1] [2] [3]

Over the club's 80-year history, many players have made the move to senior clubs. John McGuigan [4] [5] started as a youngster at Muirkirk before going on to play with Newcastle United, Southampton and Swansea City, Bernie Kelly [6] [7] went on to play with Leicester City and Middlesbrough, and Eric Caldow [8] notched up 265 appearances for Rangers.

John Joseph McGuigan was a Scottish footballer who played as an inside-forward in the 1950s and 1960s. He started his career in the Scottish Football League with St Mirren before moving to England in 1955, where he played for several Football League clubs, including Southend United, Newcastle United, Scunthorpe United, Southampton and Swansea Town.

The 2022–23 West of Scotland Football League was the third season of the West of Scotland Football League, with its top division as part of the sixth tier of the Scottish football pyramid system. The season began on 29 July 2022 and ended on 27 May 2023. Darvel were the reigning champions.
