Muisne is a coastal town in the southwest of the province of Esmeraldas in northwestern Ecuador, with a population of 5,574 in the last Ecuadorian census in 2022.[1] It is the seat of the namesake canton.
The town is located on the northern tip of the small coastal island known as Isla de Muisne in the Ensenada de Mompiche bay. The channel of the Muisne River estuary between the mainland and the eastern side of the island is crossed mainly by small outboard-motorboats for passengers and by barges for cars and small trucks.
On the western side of the island there is a beach which attracts both local and foreign tourists.
The canton of Muisne contains several other parroquias (small villages or parishes), including Pedro Carlo, San Francisco del Cabo (the oldest parish), Bunche, Union of Daule, Tola, Maldonado, Bellavista, and Daule.

Durán, also known as Eloy Alfaro, is the second largest city in the province of Guayas, Ecuador and the seat of Durán Canton. It is located near the confluence of the Daule & Babahoyo rivers, where the Guayas River enters the ocean, across the Guayas River from Guayaquil. The name "Eloy Alfaro" was chosen because of the Ecuadorian ex-president Eloy Alfaro Delgado. According to the National census in 2022, the city had a population of 295,211. Many of its inhabitants commute to other places for work and it can be considered a "dormitory town". However, many people who live in Durán find work within the canton by opening "comedores" or small restaurants, selling produce at the market, or even opening little stores with basic produce and house necessities. The towns Durán, Samborondón, and Guayaquil are connected by the bridge Rafael Mendoza Avilés.

It is located at the 63 kilometer marker on the road from Guayaquil to Manabí. It is the seat of Pedro Carbo Cantón, founded in 1984. As of the census of 2001, there are 36,711 people residing within canton limits. A new census was conducted in 2010 but results are yet unknown. The city is named after Pedro Carbo Noboa, a 19th-century politician, diplomat and writer from Guayaquil.
San Miguel de Urcuquí Canton, or Urkuki, is a canton of Ecuador, located in the Imbabura Province. Its seat is the town of Urcuquí. Its population in the 2001 census was 14,381 and was 15,671 in the 2010 census. The area of the canton is 779 square kilometres (301 sq mi).
Pedernales is a coastal town in Ecuador. It is the capital of Pedernales Canton. Ecuador's Pacific Highway 15 passes through the town and Highway 382 terminates in the town.
