Multibowl is a competitive minigame compilation of scenes from 1980s and 90s video games. Its creators, Bennett Foddy and AP Thomson, intend to show the work at events and have no plans for a public release due to copyright issues.
Similar to the microgames of WarioWare , Multibowl is a compilation of two-player scenarios culled from 230 commercial games and presented as a minigame competition. The games were first released in the 1980s to mid-90s. Each scenario is presented as a 30-second challenge, and the game awards a point to the first player to complete the objective within the time limit. The first player to ten points wins. [1]
Scenarios include killing the other player in the original Mario Bros. or scoring a goal in Sensible Soccer . Each minigame is introduced with a custom title screen that includes the objective, game's title, and historical metadata (publisher, year). [1]
Spurred by his interest in video game history and by the advancement and accessibility of video game emulators—in particular, the combination of MAME and Multi-Emulator Super System—Bennett Foddy sought to curate a selections from a series of video games across multiple platforms with no setup in-between. The indie developer and creator of QWOP noted how the technological advancement of emulators would let players cut right to the highlights of each game rather than dealing with the technical details of emulator setup. He was also concerned with how lesser-known but interesting games are lost from the cultural record by technological inaccessibility. Foddy recruited AP Thomson to help with the compilation's programming and together developed a prototype within three days. [1]
The two then added original, simultaneous two-player games that fit the format. For example, basketball games with gameplay similar to NBA Jam were excluded for originality and games like F-Zero were excluded for lack of concurrent two-player modes. Some titles are included more than once, with different scenes, and some titles deviated in objective from the original title—such as attempting to arrest enemies in Narc rather than killing them. Foddy and Thomson considered how their curation changed the tone of the included games. They appreciated their compilation's element of confusion, where players enter minigames disoriented to the relation between the objective, controls, and on-screen images. [1]
To avoid legal issues, the compilation will not be released to the public. Though the compilation will only play a selection from a title, the full game file must be included with the package by design and loaded into the game's memory. Instead, Foddy and Thomson intend to show the game at events, festivals, museums, streamers, and other limited events. It has been exhibited at XOXO and Fantastic Arcade. [1]

WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgames!, stylized as WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$! and known as WarioWare, Inc.: Minigame Mania in the PAL region, is a minigame compilation video game developed and published by Nintendo for the Game Boy Advance. The debut title in the WarioWare series, the game is about rapid completion of "microgames", short minigames given to the player consecutively and with increasing speed per each game complete. The game's concept was inspired by the "Sound Bomber" mode of Mario Artist: Polygon Studio for the Nintendo 64DD. The music and sound effects were recycled from Wario Land 4. The game was produced by Takehiro Izushi and directed by Hirofumi Matsuoka. Matsuoka was also the director of Polygon Studio. Mega Microgames! was released in 2003; in Japan in March, in North America and Europe in May and in Australia in June.
WarioWare: Touched! is a minigame compilation party video game released by Nintendo for the Nintendo DS. The fourth installment of the WarioWare series, and the first of three on the Nintendo DS, the game involves rapidly completing "microgames" — simple minigames lasting extremely short periods of time — as quickly as possible. The microgames are exclusively controlled with the Nintendo DS's touchscreen and microphone.

It comes with eight special multiplayer modes for up to four players that all involve the known microgames in some way.
WarioWare: Smooth Moves is a party video game developed by Nintendo SPD and Intelligent Systems. The game was published by Nintendo for its Wii video game system in Japan in December 2006, and in Europe, North America, and Australia in January 2007. It is the fifth game in the WarioWare series of games, and the only game in the series to be physically released for the Wii. Like its predecessors, WarioWare: Smooth Moves is built around a collection of microgames that last about five seconds each, and which require that the player hold the Wii Remote in specific positions. The game offers the microgames to the player in rapid succession, by first instructing the player to hold the Wii Remote in a specific manner, and then showing them the microgame. The microgames are divided into several stages, each of which loosely connects the microgames with the help of a story. Additionally, this was the first spin-off Mario game to be released for the console.

Game & Wario is a 2013 party video game developed by Nintendo and Intelligent Systems and published for the Wii U console, named after LCD Game & Watch titles. It is the eighth installment in the WarioWare series and part of the larger Mario franchise. The story stars Wario and his friends, who take advantage of a newly released video game console with two separate screens by making games for monetary gain. Game & Wario consists of 16 minigames that exclusively utilize the Wii U GamePad and its functions. Additional modes and collectibles are also unlockable. The majority of the minigames are single-player, although some are designed for multiplayer only.
Sonic Dreams Collection is a 2015 art game developed by Arcane Kids for OS X and Windows. It is an unofficial game based on Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog franchise that compiles four minigames presented as unfinished Sonic games, but the game as a whole later reveals itself to be a psychological horror game satirizing the then-modern Sonic fandom, known for its peculiarities. They include the character creator Make My Sonic, the massively multiplayer online role-playing game Eggman Origin, the adventure game Sonic Movie Maker, and the virtual reality (VR) game My Roommate Sonic. They are described in-game as having been developed by a nonexistent Sega studio for the Dreamcast in the late 1990s.
Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy is a platform game developed by the titular Bennett Foddy. The game was released as part of the October 2017 Humble Monthly, on October 6, 2017, where it went on to be played by over 2.7 million players. A Steam version of the game was later released by Foddy on December 6, 2017, with a release on iOS that same day. The Android version was later released on April 25, 2018. The Linux version was available for beta testing in August 2018 and received a stable release in the same year.
Bennett Foddy is an Australian video game designer based in New York. Raised in Australia and trained as a moral philosopher on topics of drug addiction, Foddy was a bassist in the electronic music group Cut Copy and a hobbyist game designer while he finished his dissertation. During his postdoctoral research at Princeton University and time on staff at Oxford University, Foddy developed games of very high difficulty, including QWOP (2008), which became an Internet sensation at the end of 2010 with the rise of new online social sharing tools. He later became an instructor at the NYU Game Center. His most famous game aside from QWOP is Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy, a philosophical, physics-based platform game released in 2017.
GIRP is a 2011 rock-climbing simulator Flash game by Australian game developer Bennett Foddy. It is a sequel to his 2008 game QWOP. GIRP was nominated for the Nuovo award for innovative games at the 2012 Independent Games Festival, but lost out to Daniel Benmergui's Storyteller.
WarioWare Gold is a minigame compilation developed by Intelligent Systems and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 3DS family of video game consoles. The ninth installment in the WarioWare series, it was released in PAL regions in July 2018, and in North America and Japan the following month. The game's plot follows the greedy Wario who has organized a gaming tournament for a large cash prize, with the ultimate goal of claiming the money for himself. Meanwhile, various other WarioWare characters deal with other problems which play out in the form of short stories.
WarioWare: Get It Together! is a party video game developed by Intelligent Systems and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch. It is the tenth installment in the WarioWare series, following WarioWare Gold (2018) for the Nintendo 3DS. The game was released worldwide on September 10, 2021 and sold 1.34 million copies worldwide. It is the final game in the WarioWare series to feature Charles Martinet as the voice of Wario before his retirement from voicing the character in 2023.
CLOP is a 2012 Flash game made by Australian game designer Bennett Foddy. It is considered a spiritual successor Foddy's previous game, QWOP, released four years prior which had gone on to become a viral sensation. Similarly to QWOP, the player is tasked with controlling a unicorn, rather than an athletic runner, and escort it to a destination.
