Akshay Kumar Indian film actor and producer

Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia, known professionally as Akshay Kumar, is an Indian born Canadian actor, producer, television personality, martial artist, stuntman and philanthropist who works in Bollywood films. In a career spanning over twenty five years, Kumar has appeared in over a hundred films and has won several awards, including the National Film Award for Best Actor for his performance in Rustom (2016), and two Filmfare Awards for Ajnabee (2001) and Garam Masala (2005).

Premier Badminton League badminton championships

Premier Badminton League is a franchise league; Sportz & Live Private Limited (Sportzlive) has the rights to operate and execute the Premier Badminton League. It was named Indian Badminton League (IBL) when founded in 2013 then later rechristened to Premier Badminton League before the start of 2nd season in 2016. The inaugural edition of the Indian Badminton League was held in India from 14 August 2013 to 31 August 2013.Hyderabad Hotshots won the inaugural IBL title at Mumbai on 31 August 2013. The second season of the league 2016 Premier Badminton League was held from 2 to 17 January 2016. Delhi Dashers defeated Mumbai Rockets in the final to clinch the title. The third season began on 22 December 2016 and came to end on 14 January 2017 with the Chennai Smashers headed by P. V. Sindhu clinching the title in the finals. The fourth season began on 23 December 2017 and came to end on 14 January 2018 with Hyderabad Hunters headed by Carolina Marin emerging as the champions.The fifth season began on 22 December 2018 and came to end on 13 January 2019 with Bengaluru Raptors emerging as the champions.

2016 Roaster

Rajah Menuri Venkata Gurusaidutt or R. M. V. Gurusaidutt or Gurusai Dutt born to RMV Bharadwaj and RM Anjana is a badminton player from India. He trains at the Hyderabad's Gopichand Badminton Academy and is supported by the GoSports Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation based out of Bangalore. He won the gold medal at the 2008 Commonwealth Youth Games and the bronze medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

Semi final

Mumbai Masters qualified for the semi-finals of the Indian Badminton League 2013, after finishing 4th in the league table with 15 points. The semi final was against Awadhe Warriors.

Awadhe Warriors is a badminton team owned by Sahara Adventure Sports Limited a group company of Sahara India for the Premier Badminton League (PBL). The team's home ground is Babu Banarasi Das Indoor Stadium, Lucknow. The team is captained by Indian badminton player Ashwini Ponappa, and coached by Anup Sridhar after it had made changes for this season.

The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) is an Indian franchise cricket team based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, which plays in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Founded in 2008, the team plays its home matches at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. After serving a two-year suspension from the IPL starting July 2015 for the alleged involvement of their owners in the 2013 IPL betting case, the Super Kings returned to the league in 2018, winning the championship in the comeback season, its third overall to tie Mumbai Indians for the record for most IPL title wins. Aditi Mutatkar is an Indian badminton player from Pune, Maharashtra. She won the Silver Medal in Mixed team event in 2010 Commonwealth Games held in Delhi, 2010. She reached her highest rank of 27th in the world when she registered her career-best performance of reaching the finals of the Bitburger Open. In the domestic circuit, she has won the Badminton Nationals in all age categories, only the third woman in this country to do so.

P. V. Sindhu Badminton player

Pusarla Venkata Sindhu is an Indian professional badminton player. She became the first Indian woman to win an Olympic silver medal, and one of the two Indian badminton players to ever win an Olympic medal – the other being Saina Nehwal. Sindhu won silver in Women's singles at Commonwealth Games 2018. She was also a silver medalist at the 2017 BWF World Championships and 2018 BWF World Championships consecutively. She was also a silver medalist in Asian Games 2018, which were held in Indonesia.

Prannoy Haseena Sunil Kumar also known as HS Prannoy is an Indian badminton player and currently trains at the Gopichand Badminton Academy in Hyderabad. Prannoy originally hails from Thiruvananthapuram and is the Indian number 2 in badminton Prannoy is supported by the GoSports Foundation, Bangalore and has been part of their scholarship programme since 2011. He studied at Kendriya Vidyalaya Akkulam.

Bengaluru Raptors badminton franchise

Bengaluru Raptors is a franchise badminton team representing Bengaluru in the Premier Badminton League (PBL). The team is one of the six founding members of PBL in 2013. The franchise was owned by the conglomerate, BOP group in 2013. In 2016, Sachin Tendulkar bought the franchise and named it after his Blasters sports franchises. In 2018, Matrix Badminton Teamworks Pvt. Ltd. took over the team and renamed it to Bengaluru Raptors.

Hyderabad Hotshots was a badminton franchise team representing the city of Hyderabad in the Indian Badminton League(IBL). The team was one of the six franchises in the inaugural IBL 2013. The franchise was owned by Andhra Pradesh’s multi business group PVP Ventures. The primary home ground of Hyderabad Hotshots was Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad. Hyderabad Hotshots was captained by Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal and coached by Rajendra.

Delhi Smashers is a badminton franchise owned by Krrish Group for the Indian Badminton League. The team's home ground is DDA Badminton and Squash Stadium in Delhi. The team is captained by Jwala Gutta.

Srikanth Kidambi Badminton player

Srikanth Kidambi is an Indian badminton player. He trains at the Gopichand Badminton Academy, Hyderabad and is supported by the GoSports Foundation. In April 2018, he became the highest ranked men's badminton player in the world. He is also sponsored by Li-Ning. In 2018, he was awarded with the Padma Shri, India's fourth highest civilian award.

2016 Premier Badminton League badminton championships

2016 Premier Badminton League was the second edition of the Premier Badminton League. The league was formerly known as the Indian Badminton League. The season was held from 2–17 January 2016. The opening ceremony was held in Mumbai and the finals in Delhi. Delhi Dashers became the champions after beating Mumbai Rockets in the final.

Chennai Smashers badminton club

Chennai Smashers is a franchise badminton team that plays in the Premier Badminton League. The team is based in Chennai, India. The team won the PBL title once and is currently captained by Chris Adcock.

Harsheel Dani is an Indian badminton player. He is a left-handed shuttler. He represented India in the Asian and BWF World Junior Championships. He also became the U-19 singles champion in the junior nationals. He is currently training at the Uday Pawar Academy in Mumbai under Indian Coach Uday Pawar. He aims to compete at various international tournaments in order to transition smoothly to the senior circuit and is receiving support from the GoSports Foundation.

Vankina Chamundeswaranath is an Indian former first-class cricketer who played for Andhra between 1978/79 and 1991/92. Also a businessman, he is a co-owner of the Indian Badminton League franchise Mumbai Masters.

2017 Premier Badminton League was the third edition of Premier Badminton League. It started on 1 January 2017 and concluded on 14 January 2017. It consisted of 15 league ties and the top four teams progressed to the knock out stages. Sachin Tendulkar became a co-owner of Bengaluru Topguns before the season and they were renamed as Bengaluru Blasters.
Awadhe Warriors, Mumbai Rockets, Chennai Smashers and Hyderabad Hunters entered the semi-finals after topping the league table. Chennai Smashers beat Awadhe Warriors 4-1 and Mumbai Rockets beat Hyderabad Hunters 3-(-1) to proceed to the final. Chennai Smashers won the tournament after beating Mumbai Rockets 4-3.

Delhi Dashers is one of the Badminton teams competing in the Premier Badminton League (PBL). Delhi Dashers have been a part of the PBL since its inception and their best finish arrived in the Season 2 (2016), after defeating Mumbai Rockets in the finals. Owned by Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Ltd., who became the new owners of the franchise from third season onwards, Delhi Dashers finished at the third position in the PBL season III (2017).
