Punjabi cinema, sometimes metonymously referred to as Pollywood, is the Punjabi-language film industry centered around the Indian state of Punjab, and based in Amritsar and Mohali.
Gurpreet Singh Waraich, commonly known as Gurpreet Ghuggi, is an Indian actor, comedian and politician. He is known for his works in Punjabi and Hindi films. Ghuggi began his career by acting in theatre in the early 1990s, after which he had recurring roles in television series such as Ronak Mela and the soap opera Parchhaven. This is the first film in the Punjabi film industry where the youth power and love for hockey is shown. Japji Khera did a cameo role in this film.
Tu Mera 22 Main Tera 22 is a Punjabi comedy film directed by Amit Prasher. The film features Amrinder Gill and Yo Yo Honey Singh in the lead roles as two spoiled rich brothers, alongside Mandy Takhar. The film released on 25 January 2013, and did good business at the box office, completing verdict of "semi-hit".

Angrej has Aditi Sharma, Ammy Virk, Binnu Dhillon, Anita Devgan, Sardar Sohi, and Nirmal Rishi in supporting roles; it marked the feature film debut for Mehta and Virk.

The film follows the story of Channan Singh, a young man falls in love with Pakko and ferries her around the village on his bicycle. However, things change after Resham Singh arrives with his new motorbike. Bambukat also stars Karamjit Anmol, Anita Devgn, Sardar Sohi, Hobby Dhaliwal, and Nirmal Rishi; it marked the feature film debut for Simi Chahal.

Kala Shah Kala is a 2019 Indian Punjabi-language romantic comedy film written and directed by Amarjit Singh. The film is produced by Infantry Pictures and Naughty Men Productions in association with Dreamityata Entertainment. It stars Binnu Dhillon, Sargun Mehta, and Jordan Sandhu, and follows the story of Lovely, a happy and charming guy who struggles to find the love of his life because of his dark complexion. It was scheduled to release on 15 March 2019, but opened early on 14 February 2019. It opened to positive reviews and became a commercial success, earning over ₹19 crore worldwide. It is the 21st highest grossing Punjabi film.
