Coquitlam is a city in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia, Canada. Mainly suburban, Coquitlam is the sixth-largest city in the province, with a population of 148,625 in 2021, and one of the 21 municipalities comprising Metro Vancouver. The mayor is Richard Stewart.
The Burrard Peninsula is a peninsula in the Lower Mainland region of British Columbia, Canada, bounded by the Burrard Inlet to the north, the Georgia Strait to the west, the North Arm of Fraser River to the south, and the Pitt River and Douglas Island to the east. The City of Vancouver occupies almost all of the western half of the peninsula, and the Cities of Burnaby and New Westminster occupy more than half of the eastern half. At its northeastern end, the peninsula is connected to the Eagle Mountain and Mount Burke of the Coast Mountains via a small isthmus at the center of the Tri-Cities.
Government Island is a 1,760-acre (710 ha) island in the Columbia River north of Portland, in Multnomah County, in the U.S. state of Oregon. Though Interstate 205 passes over it on the Glenn L. Jackson Memorial Bridge, access to the island is only by boat. There is a city controlled locked gate in the fence surrounding the freeway.
The Tri-Cities are an informal grouping of the three adjacent suburban cities of Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, and Port Moody, along with the two villages of Anmore and Belcarra in the northeast sector of Metro Vancouver in British Columbia. The Golden Ears is the name used by the Bivouac Mountain Encyclopedia for a group of mountains in the southern portion of Golden Ears Provincial Park, and visible to most of the Lower Mainland of British Columbia. It is a part of the Garibaldi Ranges, and is located in Golden Ears Provincial Park.
Buntzen Lake is a 4.8 kilometres (3 mi) long lake in Anmore, British Columbia, Canada, in the Greater Vancouver area. It is named after the first general manager of the B.C. Electric Co., Johannes Buntzen. There is a smaller lake just to the north named McCombe Lake.
The Five Fingers Group is a group of summits on the divide between Pitt Lake and Coquitlam Lake and north of Widgeon Lake, in British Columbia, Canada. The nearest populated areas are Anmore and Coquitlam. The peaks, all part of the same massif, are named for the fingers of a hand, but none of the names are official.

Lafarge Lake is a five-hectare man-made lake, located in Town Centre Park in central Coquitlam, British Columbia. The Evergreen Cultural Centre lies on the southwest corner of the lake, and the Water's Edge Festival is held on the lake shore for 25 continuous hours in March.
Town Centre Park is a park in central Coquitlam, British Columbia, just north of the Coquitlam Centre shopping mall. The park is surrounded by Coquitlam's city hall, main police station, main fire hall, City Centre Aquatic Complex, and the David Lam campus of Douglas College, Pinetree Secondary School, as well as many houses and apartments.
Coquitlam Mountain is a mountain located in northeast Coquitlam, British Columbia, 6.2 km (3.9 mi) east of Coquitlam Lake and 9.7 km (6.0 mi) north of Minnekhada Regional Park. The mountain is located at the head of Or Creek, completely within the Coquitlam watershed, and thus public access is forbidden by law. Mount Burke forms the southern ridge of Coquitlam Mountain.

The Palo Alto Baylands Nature Preserve, known officially as the Baylands Nature Preserve, is the largest tract of undisturbed marshland remaining in the San Francisco Bay. Fifteen miles of multi-use trails provide access to a unique mixture of tidal and fresh water habitats. The preserve encompasses 1,940 acres in both Palo Alto and East Palo Alto, and is owned by the city of Palo Alto, California, United States. It is an important habitat for migratory shorebirds and is considered one of the best birdwatching spots on the West Coast.
