Myennis nebulosa is a species of ulidiid or picture-winged fly in the genus Myennis of the family Ulidiidae.
The Nematoceran family Axymyiidae is the sole member of the infraorder Axymyiomorpha, though it is often included within the infraorder Bibionomorpha in older classifications. It is known from only nine species in four genera, plus eight fossil species.
Chrysopilus is common, worldwide genus of predatory snipe flies. There are approximately 300 species in the genus, including fossil members that are sometimes found in amber.
The Canthyloscelidae are a small family of midges closely related to the Scatopsidae.
Physiphora is a genus of flies in the family Ulidiidae, containing over 30 species worldwide.
Pseudotephritis is a genus of picture-winged flies in the family Ulidiidae.
Myennis monticola is a species of ulidiid or picture-winged fly in the genus Myennis of the family Ulidiidae.
Pseudotephritis ussurica is a species of ulidiid or picture-winged fly in the genus Pseudotephritis of the family Ulidiidae.
Myennis is a genus of picture-winged flies in the family Ulidiidae.
Temnostoma is a genus of hoverflies. The larvae of some species feed on the wood of deciduous trees.
Limonia is a genus of crane flies in the family Limoniidae. There are at least 430 described species in Limonia. It is somewhat of a 'catch-all' genus, where some members should rightly be placed elsewhere.
Temnostoma vespiforme is a species of hoverfly. Larva of this species feed in decaying wood of deciduous trees.
Neopachygaster is a genus of flies in the family Stratiomyidae.
Adoxomyia is a genus of soldier flies in the family Stratiomyidae.
Xylophagus is a genus of flies in the family Xylophagidae.
Sylvicola is a genus of wood gnats in the family Anisopodidae. There are more than 80 described species in Sylvicola.
Metatrichia is a genus of window flies in the family Scenopinidae.
Trimerina is a genus of shore flies, insects in the family Ephydridae.
Bradysia is a genus of fungus gnat in the family Sciaridae. They are commonly known as darkwinged fungus gnats. They are considered a major pest in greenhouse agriculture because they thrive in the moist conditions common inside greenhouses and feed on the plants being grown within. Bradysia is a large genus containing over 500 living species, with at least 65 species found in North America and 172 in Europe.
Hesperinus is a genus of flies and the sole genus in the relict family Hesperinidae belonging to the nematoceran infraorder Bibionomorpha. There are about 8 known species, nearly all from the Palaearctic region with one each from the Nearctic and Neotropical regions. Three fossil species from Eocene Baltic amber have been described. These flies have long 12-segmented antennae, legs and abdomen and males have well-developed wings while females have a short one. Little is known, but most species have been collected near streams in woodlands.
