Dame Denise Rosemarie Lewis is a British sports presenter, sports administrator and former track and field athlete, who specialised in the heptathlon.
60 metres, or 60-meter dash, is a sprint event in track and field. It is a championship event for indoor championships, normally dominated by the best outdoor 100 metres runners. At indoor events, the 60 metres is run on lanes set out in the middle of the 'field', as is the hurdles event over the same distance, thus avoiding some of the effects of the banked track encircling the venue, upon which other track events in indoor events are run. At outdoor venues it is a rare distance, at least for senior athletes. The format of the event is similar to other sprint distances. The sprinters follow three initial instructions: 'on your marks', instructing them to take up position in the starting blocks; 'set', instructing them to adopt a more efficient starting posture, which also isometrically preloads their muscles. This will enable them to start faster. The final instruction is the firing of the starter's pistol. Upon hearing this the sprinters stride forwards from the blocks.
Ezio Madonia is a retired Italian sprinter who specialized in the 100 metres, that won ten medals with the national relay team at the International athletics competitions and three at individual level.
Natalya Roshchupkina is a Russian heptathlete. She represented Russia at the 2000 Sydney Olympics and was three times a participant at the World Championships in Athletics. She also competed twice at the European Athletics Championships.
Ezinne Okparaebo is a Norwegian sprinter. She is Scandinavia's fastest woman ever over 60m and 100m. Okparaebo has won the 100m national title 13 times. She moved to Norway as a nine-year old and grew up in Ammerud. She visited the Haugen skole, where her sprinting talent was discovered on a sports school day. She has been the top female sprinter in Norway since 2005, and is competing for the club IL Norna-Salhus. She won the silver medal at 60 metres for women in the 2009 European Athletics Indoor Championships and the bronze medal in the same discipline in 2011 European Athletics Indoor Championships.
Mujinga Kambundji is a Swiss sprinter. She won the bronze medal in the 200 metres at the 2019 World Championships. Kambundji is the 60 metres 2022 World indoor champion, becoming the joint fourth-fastest woman of all time in the event, after earning a bronze in 2018. She is a three-time European Championships medallist, with gold for the 200 m and silver for the 100 m in 2022, and bronze for the 100 m in 2016. At the European Indoor Championships, she earned gold in the 60 m in 2023 and bronze in 2017.
Olesya Povh is a Ukrainian former sprint athlete who specialized in the 100 metres. Her personal best times include 11.08 seconds in the 100 m, achieved in June 2012. She is an Olympic Games bronze medalist, World Championships bronze medalist, European Championships gold and silver medalist, and European Indoor Championships gold medalist.
Dafne Schippers is a Dutch retired track and field athlete who competed in sprinting and the combined events. She holds the European record in the 200 metres with a time of 21.63 seconds, making her the sixth-fastest woman of all time at this distance. She also holds the Dutch records in the 100 metres and long jump, and shares the Dutch records in the 60 metres indoor and 4 × 100 metres relay.

The 1992 CIS Indoor Athletics Championships was an international outdoor track and field competition for athletes from countries within the Commonwealth of Independent States. It was held on 1–2 February at CSKA Palace of Sports in Moscow, Russia. A total of 29 events were contested over two days. Women competed in the steeplechase for the first time. Highlights included an Asian record of 6.51 seconds by Vitaliy Savin in the men's 60 metres.
The 1995 Russian Indoor Athletics Championships was the 4th edition of the national championship in indoor track and field for Russia. It was held on 24–26 February at the WGAFC Indoor Stadium in Volgograd. A total of 26 events were contested over the two-day competition. The racewalking events for men and women were dropped from the programme and ceased to be a regular part of the championships thereafter.

It was held on 21–23 February at the WGAFC Indoor Stadium in Volgograd. A total of 26 events were contested over the three-day competition. It was used for selection of the Russian team for the 1997 IAAF World Indoor Championships.

It was held on 12–14 February at the VGAFK Stadium in Volgograd. A total of 28 events were contested over the three-day competition. It was used for selection of the Russian team for the 2002 European Athletics Indoor Championships.
Pia Skrzyszowska is a Polish athlete specialising in the sprint hurdles. She won gold medals in the 100 metres hurdles at the 2022 European Championships and 2021 European Under-23 Championships.
