Namaini is a tribe of soil-associated weevils from South Africa in the subfamily Entiminae. [1]
The following genera are recognized: [1]
The Curculionidae are a family of weevils, commonly called snout beetles or true weevils. They are one of the largest animal families with 6,800 genera and 83,000 species described worldwide. They are the sister group to the family Brentidae.
The Entiminae are a large subfamily in the weevil family Curculionidae, containing most of the short-nosed weevils, including such genera as Entimus, Otiorhynchus, Phyllobius, Sitona, and Pachyrrhynchus. In comparison with their stunning diversity, only a few of these weevils are notorious pests of major economic importance. Entimines are commonly encountered in the field, including urban environments, and abundant in entomological collections.
Entimus is a genus of broad-nosed weevils belonging to the family true weevil and the Entiminae subfamily.
The Anypotactini are a Neotropical weevil tribe in the subfamily Entiminae. It includes 81 described species.
Ectemnorhinini is a weevil tribe in the subfamily Entiminae.
Embrithini is a weevil tribe in the subfamily Entiminae.
Entimini is a Neotropical weevil tribe in the subfamily Entiminae that includes 46 described species.
Eustylini is a primarily Neotropical weevil tribe in the subfamily Entiminae.
Geonemini is a weevil tribe in the subfamily Entiminae.
Ottistirini is a weevil tribe in the subfamily Entiminae.
Peritelini is a weevil tribe in the subfamily Entiminae.
Polydrusini is a weevil tribe in the subfamily Entiminae.
Trachyphloeini is a tribe of broad-nosed weevils in the beetle family Curculionidae. There are more than 25 genera in Trachyphloeini.
Chiloneus is a genus of weevils in the tribe Sciaphilini.
Pandeleteius is a genus of broad-nosed weevils in the family Curculionidae. There are over 150 described species in Pandeleteius, distributed across the Americas. Most species in the genus were described by Anne Howden.
Romualdius scaber, known generally as the crusted root weevil or crusted grass weevil, is a species of broad-nosed weevil in the beetle family Curculionidae. It is found in Europe and North America.
Philopedon plagiatum, the marram weevil, is a species of broad-nosed weevil in the beetle family Curculionidae. It originates in Western Europe, with a distribution which includes Portugal, Spain, France, Ireland, Great Britain, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Russia, Ukraine, Hungary, Greece, Switzerland and Italy.
