Nana Ato Dadzie is a Ghanaian lawyer and politician who served as Chief of Staff during the Jerry John Rawlings administration from 1997 to 2001. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] He is an expert and a United Nations consultant on peace building and political transitions. [6] [1] [7]
Dadzie had his ordinary certificate education from 1963 to 1968 from Adisadel College,Cape Coast and further went to Sekondi College in the Western Region from 1968 to 1970 for his advanced level certificate education. [6] Dadzie holds a Bachelor of law degree (LLB) from the University of Ghana,Legon. He had his Professional Certificate to practice law from the Ghana School of Law and was called to Bar in 1975 along with Ghanaian lawyers Tsatsu Tsikata and Nana Akufo-Addo. [6] [8] [9]
Dadzie is a member of the National Democratic Congress. He served briefly as the PNDC Secretary of state,equivalent to minister,for the Central Region in 1983. [1] [6] From 1983 to 2001,Dadzie served as a Presidential Advisor with cabinet status to Jerry John Rawlings. He served as PNDC secretary automatically making him the Secretary to the Government of Ghana from 1983 to 1993 and continued to serve as a Secretary and Special Assistant to Jerry John Rawlings when he constituted his first government during the 4th Republic from 1993 to 1997. [1] He was later appointed as chief of staff with cabinet status in the second government,serving in that capacity from 1997 to 2001 when Jerry John Rawlings left office as president.
In his role as Chief of staff he served as the Coordinator for the historic visit of US President Bill Clinton to Ghana in 1998. [6]
He is a writer and has written publications on law and political transitions. The seat of government is at Golden Jubilee House. Executive power is exercised by the government. Legislative power is vested in the government and Parliament. The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is a centre-right and liberal-conservative political party in Ghana. Since the democratisation of Ghana in 1992,it has been one of the two dominant parties in Ghanaian politics,with its leading rival being the centre-left National Democratic Congress (NDC). John Kufuor of the NPP was President of Ghana from 2001 to 2009. At the elections held on 7 December 2004,the party won 129 out of 230 seats. Jerry John Rawlings was a Ghanaian military officer,aviator and politician who led the country for a brief period in 1979,and then from 1981 to 2001. He led a military junta until 1992,and then served two terms as the democratically elected president of Ghana.
Kwamena Ahwoi is a Ghanaian academic and politician,who served as Minister for Local Government and Rural Development from 1990 to 2001 in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government,during the reign of Jerry Rawlings. He also briefly served as Minister of Foreign Affairs in 1997,and was acting minister in that department during much of the 1990s.
Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is a Ghanaian politician who has served as the president of Ghana since 2017. He previously served as Attorney General from 2001 to 2003 and as Minister for Foreign Affairs from 2003 to 2007 under the Kufuor-led administration.

Justice Daniel Francis Kweipe Annan was a Ghanaian politician and judge. He served as Speaker of the 1st &2nd parliaments of Ghana's Fourth Republic from 1993 to 2001. He was a member of the Provisional National Defence Council which governed Ghana prior the Fourth Republic from 1985 to 1992,and was Chairman of the National Commission for Democracy within this period. Prior to joining the executive arm of government in 1985,he had been a judge of the Ghanaian Court of Appeal.
Brigadier Joseph Nunoo-Mensah is a Ghanaian soldier and politician. He is a former Chief of Defence Staff of the Ghana Armed Forces. He was also a member of the Provisional National Defence Council government which overthrew the government of Dr. Hilla Limann in 1981.

On 11 January 2018,Martin A.B.K Amidu was named by the President of Ghana as the Special Prosecutor for the newly created Office of the Special Prosecutor. Nana Akufo-Addo touted his anti-corruption fights as Attorney General and a private citizen as reasons for choosing Mr. Amidu,his one-time political adversary.

Alhaji Mahama Iddrisu is a Ghanaian politician who was a member of the Provisional National Defence Council and a former Minister for Defence. He is a founding member of the National Democratic Congress. He is the longest-serving Minister of Defence of Ghana,serving from 1985 to 1999,for 14 years.

Daniel Kwaku Botwe is a Ghanaian politician. He is the Member of Parliament of Okere constituency in the Eastern Region of Ghana. He served as Minister for Information and National Orientation in the John Agyekum Kufour administration and also served as the Minister for Regional Reorganization and Development and the Minister for Local Government,Decentralisation and Rural Development in the Nana Akufo-Addo first and second term of office respectively.
Ato Ahwoi is a Ghanaian politician,who served as board chairman of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation from 2009 to 2013 in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government,during the reign of John Atta Mills and as Minister of Energy from 1987 to 1993 during the reign of Jerry Rawlings within the PNDC era.
