The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is a social democratic political party in Ghana,founded by Jerry Rawlings,who was Head of State of Ghana from 1981 to 1993 and the President of Ghana from 1993 to 2001. Following the formation of the Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC),which ruled Ghana following the military coup d'état on 31 December 1981,there was pressure from the international community to restore democracy. The NDC was formed as the ruling party ahead of elections in 1992,in which Rawlings was elected president,and in 1996 Rawlings was re-elected as the NDC candidate. Rawlings' second term ended in 2001.
Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin is a Ghanaian politician who is the current Speaker of the Parliament of Ghana. He was the Minister for Health in the Ghana government from January 2012 until February 2013. He served as the Member of Parliament for Nadowli West constituency in the Upper West Region of Ghana in the 1st,2nd,3rd,4th,5th,6th and 7th parliaments of the 4th republic of Ghana. He contested for the presidential candidate slot of the National Democratic Congress in 2019 but subsequently lost to former President John Dramani Mahama. On 7th January,2021,Bagbin was elected Speaker of 8th Parliament of the Fourth Republic.
John Dramani Mahama is a Ghanaian politician who served as President of Ghana from 24 July 2012 to 7 January 2017. He previously served as Vice President of Ghana from January 2009 to July 2012,and took office as president on 24 July 2012,following the death of his predecessor,John Evans Fiifi Attah Mills.
Kpando Municipal District is one of the eighteen districts in Volta Region,Ghana. Originally created as an ordinary district assembly on 10 March 1989 when it was known as Kpando District,until the southern part of the district was split off by a decree of president John Agyekum Kufuor on 19 August 2004 to create South Dayi District;thus the remaining part has been retained as Kpando District. However on 28 June 2012,the southern part of the district was later split off to create North Dayi District on 28 June 2012;while the remaining part was elevated to municipal district assembly status on the same year to become Kpando Municipal District. The municipality is located in the western part of Volta Region and has Kpando as its capital town.

Ablah Dzifa Gomashie is a Ghanaian female veteran actress,producer,screen scriptwriter and a politician. She was the Deputy Minister of Tourism in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) during their term in office between 2013 and 2017 when John Dramani Mahama was president. She is currently the parliamentary candidate of the NDC in the Ketu South Constituency and a queen-mother in the Aflao Traditional Area.

The presidency of John Mahama began on 24 July 2012 and ended on 7 January 2017. John became the 4th President of the Ghanaian Fourth Republic after he succeeded John Atta Mills who died in office on 24 July 2012. Prior to that,he served as Vice-President of Ghana from January 2009 to July 2012.
Said Sinare is a Ghanaian diplomat and politician,who is a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). He is currently a National Vice Chairman of the party. He is a former member of parliament for Ayawaso Central Constituency. He is also a former Ambassador to Saudi Arabia and Egypt. Sinare is an investigator and the founder of Zongo for NDC,a group to help advocate to Muslims and period within the Zongos in Ghana.
