Shivnarine "Shiv" Chanderpaul CCH is a Guyanese cricket coach and former captain of the West Indies cricket team. Considered one of the greatest batsmen of his era,Chanderpaul is the 10th highest run scorer of all time in International cricket and the 8th highest in Test cricket. Chanderpaul was a member of the West Indies team that won the 2004 ICC Champions Trophy,and in the 2004 ICC Champions Trophy Final,he had the highest contribution for West Indies with the bat,scoring 47 runs.

The Guyana cricket team is the representative first class cricket team of Guyana. The side does not take part in any international competitions,but rather in inter-regional competitions in the Caribbean,such as the Regional Four Day Competition and the Regional Super50),and the best players may be selected for the West Indies team,which plays international cricket. The team competes under the franchise name Guyana Harpy Eagles.
The 2005–06 West Indian cricket season includes all domestic cricket matches played by senior teams with first-class status in the West Indies between October 2005 and March 2006,and also the international feats of the West Indies team,who is not scheduled to play any home games during this period but are to play home matches during April,May and June 2006. The 2006 international cricket season started with controversial ICC members Zimbabwe touring the West Indies for a series of seven One Day International matches. Because Zimbabwe recently pulled out of playing Test matches,the tour had to be rescheduled which meant the two Test matches were turned into limited overs games,bumping them up from the original five. After Zimbabwe's decision to leave Test cricket at the start of 2006,the West Indies Cricket Board had reconsidered the tour,but without any other team to play they had to appease both sponsors and fans. Although the teams lie next to each other in the ICC ODI Championship,West Indies holds 89 points in eighth place,47 more than the tourists' 42 in ninth.

The tour included four Tests,two Twenty20 international matches and three One Day Internationals. Kraigg Clairmonte Brathwaite is a Barbadian cricketer who captains the West Indies in Test cricket. He bats right-handed and occasionally bowls right arm off break. On 6 November 2011,he became only the second West Indian to score two Test fifties before his 19th birthday when he made 63 (212) against India in Delhi. He has also effectively stood as stand-in-captain in place of Jason Holder in seven test matches before becoming the permanent captain of the test team taking over from Holder. He idolises Shivnarine Chanderpaul and his batting style.
Tagenarine Brandon Chanderpaul is a Guyanese cricketer who plays for Guyana in first-class cricket. He is a left-hand opening batsman. He made his international debut for the West Indies cricket team in November 2022. He is the eldest son of West Indies batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul. He played the role of cricketer Larry Gomes in the Bollywood film 83.
The West Indies cricket team toured New Zealand from 3 December 2013 to 15 January 2014,playing 3 Tests,5 One Day Internationals and 2 Twenty20 Internationals against New Zealand. New Zealand won the three match test series 2-0 and the T20Is 2–0. The ODI series was drawn 2-2.
The Australian cricket team toured the West Indies from 27 May to 15 June 2015. The tour consisted of one first-class warm-up match and two Test matches. On 8 April 2015,the West Indies Cricket Board brought forward the date of the two Test matches by two days "due to a number of logistical challenges beyond [their] control". Australia won the 2-match Test series 2–0 and therefore retained the Frank Worrell Trophy.
Gudakesh Motie is a Guyanese cricketer who plays for Guyana in West Indian domestic cricket. He is a left-arm orthodox bowler. He made his international debut for the West Indies cricket team in December 2021.
Damodar Daesrath is a former international cricketer who played at One Day International (ODI) and Twenty20 International level for the Canadian national team. Prior to immigrating to Canada,he represented Guyana in West Indian domestic cricket.
The CWI/WIPA Awards are a set of annual cricket awards given jointly by the Cricket West Indies (CWI) and the West Indies Players' Association (WIPA). The awards recognise and honour the best West Indian international and domestic cricketers of the past season. The awards were known as WIPA Awards until 2013 when the CWI,then known as West Indies Cricket Board (WICB),and WIPA decided to jointly host the awards function.
Chandrapaul Hemraj is a Guyanese cricketer. He made his first-class debut for Guyana in the 2011–12 Regional Four Day Competition on 16 March 2012. He made his List A debut for Guyana in the 2017–18 Regional Super50 on 31 January 2018. He made his Twenty20 debut for St Lucia Stars in the 2018 Caribbean Premier League on 16 August 2018.
