The premier of Ontario is the head of government of Ontario. Under the Westminster system, the premier governs with the confidence of a majority the elected Legislative Assembly; as such, the premier typically sits as a member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) and leads the largest party or a coalition of parties. As first minister, the premier selects ministers to form the Executive Council, and serves as its chair. Constitutionally, the Crown exercises executive power on the advice of the Executive Council, which is collectively responsible to the legislature.

On 3 June 2023, Naqvi announced his candidacy for the 2023 Ontario Liberal Party Leadership Election in which he lost to Bonnie Crombie finishing in third.

She joined the provincial cabinet after the PCs formed government in 2018, and has been successively the minister of tourism, culture and sport, the minister of community safety and correctional services, and the solicitor general of Ontario.

Dipika Damerla is a Canadian politician in Mississauga, Ontario. She is the current Mississauga City Councillor for Ward 7, the neighbourhood of Cooksville, since her swearing-in on December 3, 2018. Previously, Damerla was a Liberal member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario representing the riding of Mississauga East—Cooksville from 2011 to 2018. She served as Minister of Seniors Affairs in the Cabinet of Premier Kathleen Wynne. On March 7th, 2024, Damerla Announced that she would be seeking to be elected Mayor of Mississauga. She placed third with 19.4%, losing to Carolyn Parrish.

She was also a parliamentary assistant from 2018 to 2023. Khanjin is the first Jewish woman to be a PC cabinet minister.

She sat as an independent MPP for the remainder of her term and did not seek re-election in the 2022 election.

Karina Gould is a Canadian politician who has been the Leader of the Government in the House of Commons since July 26, 2023. A member of the Liberal Party, she has served as member of Parliament (MP) for the riding of Burlington in the House of Commons since October 19, 2015. Gould was first appointed to Cabinet on February 1, 2017 as the minister of democratic institutions, serving in the role until she was appointed as the minister of international development on November 20, 2019, and has since then served in two other portfolios. Gould is the youngest woman to serve as a Cabinet minister in Canadian history. Gould went on maternity leave in January 2024 and was temporarily replaced as House Leader by Steven MacKinnon, but is expected to return to the position at the end of July 2024.
