Nate Carroll (born March 24, 1987) is an American football coach who is currently the passing game coordinator for the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League (NFL). He has spent his career working for his father Pete, former executive vice president and head coach of the Seattle Seahawks.
A three-star athlete in high school, Carroll was recruited mostly by small schools including San Diego, then coached by Jim Harbaugh. [1] Carroll did not intend to play college football and enrolled at the University of Southern California, where his father was coaching. He graduated from USC in 2010 with a degree in psychology. [2]
Unsure of what to do after graduation, the younger Carroll was offered a job by his father to work for the Seattle Seahawks as a personnel assistant in the scouting department for one season before being named a defensive assistant in 2011. [3] Initially offered a coaching position in Jacksonville by former Seahawks defensive coordinator and newly hired head coach Gus Bradley, Carroll shifted to offensive assistant in 2013. [4] [5] He was a member of the coaching staff that defeated the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XLVIII, giving Carroll his first Super Bowl victory. [6] He was promoted to assistant wide receivers coach in 2014, working with Kippy Brown and later Dave Canales. [7] Carroll served as the team's wide receivers coach from 2018 to 2021. [8]
On February 15, 2024, Carroll was named as the passing game coordinator for the Carolina Panthers. [9]
Carroll's father is Pete Carroll and his brother Brennan is currently the offensive coordinator at Washington. Carroll and his wife Anna have two sons.

He was previously the head football coach at the University of Southern California (USC) from 2001 to 2009 and the head coach of the Seahawks from 2010 to 2023. Carroll is the third and most recent head coach to win a college football national championship and a Super Bowl along with Jimmy Johnson and Barry Switzer.

He previously served as offensive coordinator for the Minnesota Vikings from 2006 to 2010, the Seattle Seahawks from 2011 to 2017, the Detroit Lions in 2019 and for the first 11 games of the 2020 season before being named the interim head coach for the remainder of the Lions season, and the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2021. Bevell played college football for the University of Wisconsin, where he was a four-year starting quarterback.

Marquand Alexander Manuel is an American football coach and former safety who is the Safeties coach for the New York Jets of the National Football League (NFL). He previously served as the defensive coordinator for the Atlanta Falcons and as an assistant coach for the Seattle Seahawks. After playing college football for the University of Florida, he was selected in the sixth round of the 2002 NFL draft. He played for eight seasons in the NFL for the Cincinnati Bengals, Seattle Seahawks, Green Bay Packers, Carolina Panthers, Denver Broncos, and Detroit Lions. He was the defensive coordinator for the Atlanta Falcons from 2017 to 2018.

The 49ers–Seahawks rivalry is an American football rivalry between the San Francisco 49ers and the Seattle Seahawks in the National Football League (NFL). While the teams first met in 1976, the rivalry did not develop until the early 2000s, specifically in 2002, when the Seahawks were placed with the 49ers in the NFC West, allowing for two annual meetings between the teams.
