Brian Schneider (born May 16, 1971) is an American football coach and former linebacker who was the special teams coordinator of the San Francisco 49ers.
After being a three sport athlete at Pomona High School, Schneider went on to be a linebacker [1] from 1990 to 1993 at Colorado State. He was a three-year starter and earned first-team All-Conference honors as a senior and was an honorable mention All-American.
Schneider began his career in coaching at his alma mater, working as a graduate assistant for three seasons. In 1997 he was given a promotion to become the team's special teams coordinator and tight ends coach, and he held both positions until after the 2002 season. [2]
In February 2003, Schneider joined UCLA's coaching staff and stayed there for three years working with the linebackers and safeties in addition to his duties coaching the special teams for the Bruins. [3]
In 2006, Schneider once again coached tight ends in addition to the special teams, this time for Dan McCarney's Iowa State Cyclones. [4]
Originally hired by the Air Force Academy, [5] after a call, Schneider made the leap to the NFL. In 2007 and 2008, Schneider was the special team's coordinator for the Oakland Raiders. In both seasons, Shane Lechler was voted into the Pro Bowl and led the league in punting.
Schneider spent 2009 working under Pete Carroll [5] as the special teams coordinator at USC. [6]
Following Carroll to the NFL, Schneider became the special teams coordinator for the Seattle Seahawks, a position he held for 11 years until he left on September 11, 2020, [6] for personal reasons. [7] During his time with the Seahawks, he won his first Super Bowl title when the Seahawks defeated the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XLVIII. [8]
On January 22, 2021, [9] it was announced that Schneider would be returning to coaching as a part of Urban Meyer's staff. [10] He was named the team's special teams coordinator. [11] On May 22, 2021, he stepped away from the Jaguars indefinitely for personal reasons. [12]
On March 7, 2022, it was announced that Schneider would be hired as the special teams coordinator for the San Francisco 49ers. [13]
On January 7, 2025 it was announced that Schneider was fired as the 49ers Special Teams Coordinator. [14]
Schneider and his wife, Kelli, have a daughter (Jaden) and three sons (Jace, Joby, and Joel). [3]

He played college football for the UCLA Bruins and was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the second round of the 1988 NFL draft.

He played college football for the Rice Owls and was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Miami Dolphins in 1996. A three-time Pro Bowl selection and All-Pro selection for the New England Patriots, he won three Super Bowls with the Patriots and one as a coach with the New York Giants.
Darrell Wayne Bevell is an American football coach who is the passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League (NFL). He previously served as offensive coordinator for the Minnesota Vikings from 2006 to 2010, the Seattle Seahawks from 2011 to 2017, the Detroit Lions in 2019 and for the first 11 games of the 2020 season before being named the interim head coach for the remainder of the Lions season, and the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2021. Bevell played college football for the University of Wisconsin, where he was a four-year starting quarterback.

Kennedy Polamalu is an American Samoan professional football coach who is the running backs coach for the Seattle Seahawks of the National Football League (NFL). Formerly, he served as the running backs coach for the Cleveland Browns, Jacksonville Jaguars, Minnesota Vikings, and Las Vegas Raiders. He was the offensive coordinator for the UCLA Bruins. Prior to that he was the offensive coordinator for the USC Trojans.
