Jackson was born in Pinehurst,North Carolina. [5] In May 2022,Jackson defeated David Ashley and Cory Bortree in the Republican primary election for the 78th district of the North Carolina House of Representatives. [6] In November 2022,he defeated Erik Davis in the general election,winning 76 percent of the votes. [7] He assumed office in 2023.

The elections would be held under new districts passed by the General Assembly in House Bill 976 to account for population changes following the 2020 census. The maps were later overturned by the North Carolina Supreme Court,who ordered the legislature to draw new maps. The North Carolina General Assembly later redrew the maps which were upheld by the Wake County Superior Court and the North Carolina Supreme Court.
