Neil Crone (born May 29, 1960) is a Canadian actor and writer. He is known for portraying Fred Tupper in Little Mosque on the Prairie , Jerry Whitehall in Cube 2: Hypercube and the voices of Gordon, Diesel 10 and Splatter in Thomas and the Magic Railroad (2000). Crone reprised his role as Gordon in the US dub of the Thomas & Friends reboot, Thomas & Friends: All Engines Go! (since 2021).
He appeared in films with roles as Officer Strauss in New York Minute (2004), Chuck in Hollywoodland (2006), Keith in The Rainbow Kid (2015), Chief Borton in the 2017 remake It (2017) and its 2019 sequel, and George in Through Black Spruce (2018).
His television credits include Bud Topper in the PBS Kids children's television series Noddy (1999–2000), Ed Barnes in the sitcom I Love Mummy (2002–2003), Ray Cooper in Really Me (2011–2013), Chief Crown Attorney Gordon in Murdoch Mysteries (2013–2016), Ollie Jefferson in Wind at My Back (1996–2000) Ronnie Stewart in When Hope Calls (2019, 2021) and Mr. Leopold in Endlings (2020–2021).
Crone was born on May 29, 1960, in Scarborough, Toronto. [1] He attended Sir John A. MacDonald Collegiate Institute and then studied radio and television arts at Ryerson Polytechnical Institute before earning a degree in education from the University of Toronto. [1] He taught English and drama for three years at King City Secondary School before launching his acting career. [2] He would land a role at Toronto’s The Second City Touring Company before moving onto its main stage. [2]
Crone did the voices of Gordon the Big Engine, Diesel 10 and Splatter from the film Thomas and the Magic Railroad . [3] He provided the voice of Phillip the Concierge in the My Secret Identity episode "Sour Grapes". He has also starred in I Love Mummy , The Red Green Show , the CTV series Power Play , and American Psycho 2: All American Girl . He is also known for being a panelist on the Vancouver-based game show The Next Line and was the host of a children's game show called Wild Guess.
Crone portrayed radio host Fred Tupper on the CBC Television situation comedy series Little Mosque on the Prairie . He also voiced Robert on the animated series Iggy Arbuckle , Reverend McRee in Bob and Doug and Dwayne in Total Drama Presents: The Ridonculous Race . [4] Crone has appeared on international and syndicated shows such as Get Focused Radio with Kate Hennessy.
Crone also played live-action roles such as Maddy's dad, Ray, in Really Me and a cop at protest in Hairspray .
He also writes regular articles for the Durham Region's This Week newspaper. [5]
In 2021, Crone reprised his role as Gordon the Big Engine in Thomas & Friends: All Engines Go , a reboot of the original Thomas & Friends series.

Disney's House of Mouse is an American animated television series produced by Walt Disney Television Animation that originally aired on ABC and Toon Disney from January 13, 2001, to October 24, 2003, with 52 episodes and 22 newly produced cartoon shorts made for the series. The show focuses on Mickey Mouse and his friends running a cartoon theater dinner club in the fictional setting of ToonTown, catering to many characters from Disney cartoons and animated movies while showcasing a variety of their cartoon shorts. The series is named after a common nickname or epithet for the Walt Disney Company.
Thomas and the Magic Railroad is a 2000 children's fantasy adventure film written and directed by Britt Allcroft and produced by Allcroft and Phil Fehrle; the cast includes Alec Baldwin, Peter Fonda, Mara Wilson, Didi Conn, Russell Means, Cody McMains, Michael E. Rodgers, and the voices of Eddie Glen and Neil Crone. The film is based on the British children's book series The Railway Series by the Reverend W. Awdry, its televised adaptation Thomas & Friends by Allcroft, and the American television series Shining Time Station by Allcroft and Rick Siggelkow; it is the only theatrical live-action/animated film in the Thomas & Friends franchise. The plot is centered on Lily Stone (Wilson), the granddaughter of the caretaker (Fonda) of an enchanted steam engine who is lacking an appropriate supply of coal, and Mr. Conductor (Baldwin) of Shining Time Station, whose provisions of magical gold dust are at a critical low. Lily and Mr. Conductor enlist the help of Thomas the Tank Engine (Glen), who confronts the ruthless, steam engine-hating Diesel 10 (Crone) along the way.
David William Thomas is a Canadian actor, comedian and television writer, known for being one half of the duo Bob and Doug McKenzie with Rick Moranis. He appeared as Doug McKenzie on SCTV, for which he won a Primetime Emmy Award out of two nominations, and in the film Strange Brew (1983), which he also co-directed. As a duo, they made two albums, The Great White North and Strange Brew, the former gaining them a Grammy Award nomination and a Juno Award.

Little Mosque on the Prairie is a Canadian television sitcom created by Zarqa Nawaz and produced by WestWind Pictures, originally broadcast from 2007 to 2012 on CBC. Filmed in Toronto, Ontario, and Indian Head, Saskatchewan, the series was showcased at the Dawn Breakers International Film Festival. After the series finale aired in April 2012, Hulu announced it would begin offering the series under the name Little Mosque that summer. The series made its U.S. premiere on Pivot in August 2013.
