History

The town of Nekoma was laid out in July 1869. [3]

Geography

The town is located in the far south of the county, at the intersections of Illinois Routes 17 and 82. [4]

According to the 2021 census gazetteer files, Nekoma has a total area of 0.13 square miles (0.34 km2), all land. [5]

Demographics

As of the 2020 census [6] there were 23 people, 48 households, and 0 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 175.57 inhabitants per square mile (67.79/km2).
