Nerthus is a genus of seed bugs and allies in the family Heterogastridae. There are at least three described species in Nerthus, found in China and Southeast Asia. [1] [2]
These three species belong to the genus Nerthus:
The Miridae are a large and diverse insect family at one time known by the taxonomic synonym Capsidae. Species in the family may be referred to as capsid bugs or "mirid bugs". Common names include plant bugs, leaf bugs, and grass bugs. It is the largest family of true bugs belonging to the suborder Heteroptera; it includes over 10,000 known species, and new ones are being described constantly. Most widely known mirids are species that are notorious agricultural pests that pierce plant tissues, feed on the sap, and sometimes transmit viral plant diseases. Some species however, are predatory.
Nysius is a genus of false chinch bugs in the family Lygaeidae. At least 100 described species are placed in Nysius.
Uzza is a monotypic genus of seed bugs in the tribe Drymini, erected by William Lucas Distant in 1909. It contains the single species Uzza karenia from Thailand.
Heterogastridae is a family of lygaeoid bugs consisting of about 20 genera and more than 100 species.
Tropidothorax is a genus of seed bugs or ground bugs belonging to the family Lygaeidae, subfamily Lygaeinae. There are about 11 described species in Tropidothorax.
Elasmopoda is a genus in the "true bug" family Coreidae, order Hemiptera. The genus is native to parts of eastern and southern Africa. The species are large "twig wilter" bugs, generally brown or greyish. The femora of the hind legs are somewhat enlarged and bent, but less than those of some related genera, and either unarmed, or less armed with spikes.
The Blissidae are a family in the Hemiptera, comprising nearly 50 genera and 400 species. The group has often been treated as a subfamily of the Lygaeidae but was resurrected as a full family by Thomas Henry (1997).
Dalader is the type genus of coreid bugs in the Daladerini tribe. Species in the genus are distributed in tropical Asia, chiefly Southeast Asia. The genus name is derived from the Sanskrit roots dal meaning leaf and dhru which means bearer. This plant bug genus is distinguished by the which preterminal antennal segment being flattened, pear-shaped, and ridged and the terminal segment being paler. Chalcidoid egg parasites have been recorded from this species. Adults of Dalader acuticosta are fried and eaten in northeastern India.
Lygaeus is a genus of seed bugs in the family Lygaeidae. There are more than 60 described species in Lygaeus.
Ochrimnus is a genus of seed bugs in the family Lygaeidae. There are more than 40 described species in Ochrimnus.
Scolopostethus is a genus of dirt-colored seed bugs in the family Rhyparochromidae. There are more than 30 described species in Scolopostethus.
Oncopeltus is a genus of seed bugs in the family Lygaeidae, which has at least 40 described species.
Cylapus is a genus of plant bugs in the family Miridae. There are about 12 described species in Cylapus.
Amphiareus is a genus of minute pirate bugs belonging to the family Anthocoridae.
Neolethaeus is a genus of dirt-colored seed bugs in the family Rhyparochromidae. There are more than 20 described species in Neolethaeus, found mainly in Asia, Australia, and Africa.
Horridipamera is a genus of dirt-colored seed bugs in the family Rhyparochromidae. There are about 13 described species in Horridipamera.
Nerthus taivanicus is a species of pentatomomorphan bug in the family Heterogastridae, found in eastern and southeastern Asia.
Diconocoris is a genus of Asian lace bugs in the tribe Tingini.
Distantiella is a genus of African bugs, of the family Miridae or "capsids", named after William Lucas Distant. This genus is placed in the subtribe Odoniellina: which has been included in tribes Dicyphini or Monaloniini.
Megacoelum is a genus of European, African, Asian and Australian capsid bugs in the tribe Mirini, erected by Franz Xaver Fieber in 1858. The species Megacoelum infusum is recorded from northern Europe including the British Isles.
