Netball is one of the sports played at the 2019 Pacific Games which was held at Apia in Samoa. This is the twelfth time that netball has been in the games since its inclusion in 1963. The competition took place between 15 July to 20 July 2019. [1] Eight nations were competing in the competition with the defending champions Fiji being absent due to competing at the 2019 Netball World Cup. [2]

Netball Seven-a-side ball sport

Netball is a ball sport played by two teams of seven players, usually on an indoor court, and is predominantly played by women. It is among a rare number of sports which have been created exclusively for the female sex. 2007 South Pacific Games 13th edition of the South Pacific Games

The 2007 South Pacific Games were held in Apia, Samoa, from 25 August to 8 September 2007. The Games were the thirteenth to be held since the inception of the South Pacific Games in 1963, and included traditional multi-sport event disciplines, such as athletics and swimming, alongside region-specific and smaller events such as outrigger canoeing, surfing and lawn bowls.

Apia Park is a multi-function sports complex located in Apia, the capital of Samoa. Primarily used for rugby union events, Apia Park is the home stadium of the Samoa national rugby union team, Manu Samoa. It is also a venue for association football. Manuma Samoa use the venue for rugby union matches.

The Fiji National Netball Team better known at the Fijian Pearls represents Fiji in international netball competition. Fiji have competed at nine World Netball Championships, finishing sixth in their best placing at the 1999 tournament. They have also competed at two Commonwealth Games, and won the netball event at the South Pacific Games for a number of years. They have won gold at every games since 1991. They are also the current Pacific Champions, winning the all Pacific Series since its inception.

Tuvalu participates in the Pacific Games which is a multi-sport event with participation exclusively from countries in Oceania. Known as the South Pacific Games prior to 2009, the games are currently held every four years.

Rugby union at the Pacific Games has been contested since 1963 when included as one of ten sports at the first games held in Suva, Fiji. Rugby sevens is the form of rugby now played at the Pacific Games, with men's and women's tournaments included in the current schedule. The women's competition was added for the first time at the 2011 Pacific Games held in Nouméa.

2017 Pacific Mini Games

The 2017 Pacific Mini Games were held in Port Vila, Vanuatu, in December 2017. It was the tenth edition of the Pacific Mini Games, and the second to be hosted in Vanuatu.

Swimming competitions have been held at the Pacific Games since the inaugural edition in 1963 at every Games except for 1983. Swimming has also been held once at the South Pacific Mini Games, in 2005.

The men's football tournament at the 2019 Pacific Games is being held from 8 to 20 July 2019. It is the 15th edition of the men's Pacific Games football tournament. Together with the women's competition, all matches are being played at the J.S. Blatter Stadium in Apia, Samoa.

Shooting at the 2019 Pacific Games in Samoa was held from 15–19 July 2019 at the Tafaigata Shooting Range near Apia. Five disciplines were contested; three on the down-the-line shotgun range, and two at the indoor pistol range. Medals were awarded for both individual and team events in each discipline. The competition was not gender specific, with all events open to men and women.
