Netherlands Antilles Championship

Netherlands Antilles Championship or Kopa Antiano was the premier association football competition in the Netherlands Antilles, overseen by the Nederlands Antilliaanse Voetbal Unie.

Contents

The championship was contested by the top teams of the Curaçao League and the Bonaire League. Up to and including 1985, the top clubs from Aruba also entered in this championship. The last tournament was played in 2010 due to the dissolution of the Netherlands Antilles.

The Promé Divishon also known as Liga MCB 1st Division for sponsorship reasons, is the top football league in Curaçao, constituent country of the Netherlands. Up to 2010 the top two teams in this competition got to compete in the Kopa Antiano, the Netherlands Antilles Championship. After the dissolution, Curaçao became the CONCACAF member, and the teams competing can qualify for the CFU Club Shield. The teams who finish at the bottom of the league table, have to compete with the top two teams of the Curaçao Segundo Divishon, the 2nd tier of football in Curaçao for placement in Promé Divishon the following season.

Rooms Katholieke Sport Vereniging Scherpenheuvel is a Curaçao professional football club located in Scherpenheuvel, and playing in the Sekshon Pagá since the 2015 season. The club has previously played at the topflight of the Netherlands Antilles, having won the Curaçao League First Division twice, in both the 1964–65 and 1968–69 seasons, and the Netherlands Antilles Championship once in 1967. Roy Vanenburg is a Surinamese football manager and former player, who was last manager of Hoofdklasse club Transvaal. He spent most of his professional playing career with S.V. Transvaal, winning six Hoofdklasse titles, and two CONCACAF Champions Cups, finishing as the league top scorer in both 1968 and in 1971. He had previously played for H.V.V. and S.V. Robinhood before joining Transvaal in 1967.

Harald Reumel, known by his nickname Brammerloo is a former Surinamese football player, who played in the Surinamese Hoofdklasse for The Goal Getters and S.V. Transvaal, and for the Suriname national team. He spent most of his professional playing career with S.V. Transvaal, winning six consecutive national titles, and two CONCACAF Champions Cup, finishing as the league top scorer in 1966.
