New Town Eagles Soccer Club is a football (soccer) club which represents New Town in the TasmanianSouthern Championship. The club also fields teams in all junior divisions. New Town Eagles play their home games at Clare Street, in New Town.
The club began life as White Eagle, who proudly represented the Polish migrant community in Tasmania. Many Poles came to Tasmania immediately after World War II to seek a new life and better conditions following the devastation of the war. Many Poles who came to Tasmania found good jobs on the dangerous but well paid giant dam-building schemes of the then "Hydro-Electric Commission" (now Hydro Tasmania). These new migrants brought many of their traditions with them from home, one of which of course was football.
White Eagle was formed in 1961, and enjoyed immediate success, winning the KO Cup in their first year. White Eagle first entered the Southern Premier League in 1964, although some of their players may have previously represented the failed Hydro side which played in the competition from 1955 until 1957. The team entered the top tier of the southern competition after winning the first division in only their second season of existence in 1963.
Throughout their history White Eagles drew strongly from the migrant Polish community, and this has continued after being forced to change their name to New Town Eagles in 1997 when it was decided all Australian football clubs should end their ethnic affiliations. As of 2006, New Town Eagles have although less successful in the Southern Premier League, New Town Eagles have won the State Championship 8 times, making them equal second with Hobart Zebras on the all time winners list. They enjoyed a great run in the short lived Tasmanian State League in the late 1980s winning the competition from 1988 to 1991 every year.

Hobart Zebras Football Club was an association football club based in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. The club is one of the biggest and most successful clubs in Tasmania. It competes in competitions run by the governing body Football Federation Tasmania, including the NPL Tasmania. The club uses the colours of Juventus F.C. and have historical ties and links to the club. They merged with Clarence United FC after the 2019 season to form Clarence Zebras FC.
Clarence United Football Club was an amateur soccer club based in the City of Clarence, Tasmania, which competed in the NPL Tasmania, the second tier of the sport in the country below the A-League. Founded in 1978 the club spent much of its early history competing in lower divisions, where it has been reasonably successful, winning several lower division titles and cups. Despite this, Clarence United had struggled for many years to attain success at the highest level within the state, although Clarence United was finally crowned state champions for the first time in 2009. At the conclusion of the 2019 season, they merged with Hobart Zebras FC to form Clarence Zebras FC.

Cascades Soccer club was a short lived soccer team which represented the workers of the Cascade Brewery in the Southern Premier league from 1931 until 1936. In the years before World War II it was common for companies to enter teams in local soccer competitions as a morale building exercise, and the Cascades Brewery did likewise. In their short life-span of 6 years, Cascade's team was incredibly successful, winning 4 Southern Premierships, as well as 4 state championships, and 4 cup wins.
Hobart Rangers Soccer Club was an Australian soccer club which was based in Hobart, Tasmania. It was established in 1958 out of the old Hydro SC, that played in Tasmanian Division 2 South from 1954 until 1957. The Hydro team was re-branded for the 1958 season, but only lasted for nine seasons due to lack of support. During their short history, the Rangers manage to win both the State Championship and Southern Premiership in 1962.

The first cup competition in Tasmania was the Falkinder Cup, which began in 1913. For nearly 60 years it was the state's premier football cup tournament, but was eclipsed by the Statewide Cup, and the pre-season Summer Cup. Various Cups and trophies have come and gone, and currently the main non-league tournaments in Tasmania are the Statewide Cup, and the three pre-season tournaments, the Summer Cup (south), the North West Summer Cup, and the Steve Hudson Cup.
The Australian Rowing Championships is an annual rowing event that determines Australia's national rowing champions and facilitates selection of Australian representative crews for World Championships and the Olympic Games. It is Australia's premier regatta, with states, clubs and schools sending their best crews. The Championships commence with the National Regatta - men's, women's and lightweight events in open, under 23, under 19, under 17 and school age events. Rowers at the National Regatta race in their local club colours with composite crews permitted. The Championships conclude with the Interstate Regatta - currently eight events competed by state representative crews or scullers selected by the state rowing associations. The states compete for an overall points tally which decides the Zurich Cup.
