Somerset Football Club, also known as the "Sharks", is a soccer club which represents Somerset in the TasmanianNorthern Championship. The club also fields teams in all junior divisions, as well as women's teams. Somerset play their home games at Somerset Recreation Ground, in Somerset, Tasmania.
Somerset Football Club was formed in 1979 by a dedicated soccer player known as Nigel Brown. He wanted to create a club for the Somerset and Wynyard area. They began their life playing home games at Wynyard High School, before relocating to the Somerset Recreation Ground (Shark Park).
In 2006 Somerset won the Tasmanian Championship for the first time, having already won the Northern Premier League title. They have subsequently won the Northern Premier League again on seven occasions.

The Rochester RazorSharks are an inactive professional basketball team based in Rochester, New York. The RazorSharks were founded in 2005 as a member of the American Basketball Association (ABA). They remained in the ABA until 2007, leaving the league to become founding members of the Premier Basketball League (PBL). The RazorSharks have won eight championships to date – the 2006 ABA championship and PBL titles in 2008, 2009, 2011, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017. The club fielded a women's team, Under 18s as well as teams in all junior divisions. Prospect Knights FC played all their home games at the Prospect Park Sports Complex, off Harley Parade in Prospect, a western suburb of Launceston, Tasmania, Australia. The club has also competed at the annual Australian & New Zealand Croatian Soccer Tournament on several occasions, including the 34th tournament in Geelong in 2008 and the 35th held in Adelaide in 2009.

The 1967 Tasmanian State Premiership Final was an Australian rules football match played between the Wynyard Cats and the North Hobart Robins on Saturday 30 September 1967 at West Park Oval, Burnie, to decide the winner of the 1967 Tasmanian State Premiership. One of the most controversial games in Australian rules football history, the match was declared no result and the premiership was withheld after fans invaded the field and eventually took down the goal posts, preventing North Hobart full-forward David Collins from taking a kick after the siren which would likely have won or tied the game for the Robins.
