"New Way Out" is a song by American singer Poppy. It was released by Sumerian Records on June 4, 2024, as the lead single from her upcoming sixth studio album. The song was written by Poppy, Stephen Harrison and its producer Jordan Fish.
Following the release of her fifth studio album, Zig (2023), Poppy collaborated with the American bands Bad Omens and Knocked Loose on the two successful singles "V.A.N" and "Suffocate" respectively in 2024. [1] [2] [3] Shortly after, she revealed the cover art to a new solo single on her Instagram account. It was later announced one day before its release. [4] The song was co-written by Stephan Harrison, the former member of the American rock band Fever 333, who previously collaborated with Poppy on her 2019 single "Scary Mask" from her second extended play, Choke , and was produced by Bring Me the Horizon's former member Jordan Fish. The song's visualizer was directed by Sam Cannon, and it has been compared by Hesher Keenan of MetalSucks to Alice in Wonderland due to the way Poppy was dressed, and the keyhole aesthetic. [7]
"New Way Out" is an industrial pop [8] , hard rock [9] and pop metal [10] song that talks about self-growth and pulling oneself back from the edge. [11] It has been influenced by Madonna and Britney Spears. [10]
"New Way Out" premiered on BBC Radio 1 when it was released. [12] The song peaked at number 35 on the Mainstream Rock chart. It became her second song to enter the Rock Airplay chart after "V.A.N", which peaked at number nine. [13]

A Perfect Circle is an American rock band formed in Los Angeles, California in 1999 by guitarist Billy Howerdel and Tool vocalist Maynard James Keenan. A Perfect Circle released three of their four studio albums in the early 2000s: their debut Mer de Noms in 2000, a follow-up, Thirteenth Step in 2003; and an album of radically re-worked cover songs, Emotive, in 2004. Shortly after Emotive's release, the band went on hiatus; Keenan returned to Tool and started up solo work under the band name Puscifer, while Howerdel released a solo album, Keep Telling Myself It's Alright, under the moniker Ashes Divide. Band activity was sporadic in the following years; the band reformed in 2010, and played live shows on and off between 2010 and 2013, but fell into inactivity after the release of their greatest hits album, Three Sixty, and a live album box set, A Perfect Circle Live: Featuring Stone and Echo in late 2013. The band reformed in 2017 to record a fourth album, Eat the Elephant, which was released in 2018. After spending the rest of the year touring in support of the album, the band fell into inactivity until 2024 for a brief tour and one-off song "Kindred".

Corrosion of Conformity is an American heavy metal band from Raleigh, North Carolina, formed in 1982. The band has undergone multiple lineup changes throughout its existence, with lead guitarist Woody Weatherman as the sole constant member. Robert Dustie Waring is an American guitarist. He is known for playing rhythm and additional lead parts for the progressive metalcore band Between the Buried and Me from 2005-2024. He is also a guitarist for the deathcore band Glass Casket. Waring joined Between the Buried and Me along with Glass Casket bandmate Blake Richardson, replacing Shane Blay as rhythm guitarist.

Knocked Loose is an American hardcore punk band from Oldham County, Kentucky, formed in 2013 and currently signed to Pure Noise Records. Their 2021 EP ATear in the Fabric of Life incorporated elements of death metal and was released to widespread critical acclaim. Jordan Keith Attwood Fish is a British keyboardist, singer-songwriter and producer. He is best known for being the keyboardist, backing vocalist, and producer of the British rock band Bring Me the Horizon, from 2012 until his departure in 2023. Fish appeared on five studio releases with the band, Sempiternal (2013), That's the Spirit (2015), Amo (2019), Post Human: Survival Horror (2020) and Post Human: Nex Gen (2024). Before joining the group, he was in the bands Proxies and Worship from 2010 to 2013.
Bad Omens is an American metal band from Richmond, Virginia, formed in 2015 by vocalist and producer Noah Sebastian, guitarist Nicholas Ruffilo, and bassist Vincent Riquier. The band was later joined by guitarist and producer Joakim "Jolly" Karlsson and drummer Nick Folio, releasing their critically acclaimed debut self-titled album in 2016 under Sumerian Records. Their second full-length album, Finding God Before God Finds Me, was released in 2019, with a deluxe edition released in 2020. I Disagree debuted at number 130 on the Billboard 200 for the week of January 25, marking Poppy's first entry on the chart. The album also experienced moderate chart success in Australia and the United Kingdom, debuting atop the Rock & Metal Albums Chart in the latter.
Spiritbox is a Canadian heavy metal band, originally from Victoria, British Columbia, publicly established by guitarist Mike Stringer and vocalist Courtney LaPlante in October 2017. The band's full lineup comprises married couple LaPlante and Stringer alongside drummer Zev Rose, and bassist Josh Gilbert. The band's style incorporates electronic elements and draws from a variety of influences, crossing multiple metal subgenres with its roots in metalcore and progressive metal. Endtime Signals is the thirteenth studio album by Swedish melodic death metal band Dark Tranquillity, released on 16 August 2024 by Century Media Records. The album is the band's first to feature bassist Christian Jansson and drummer Joakim Strandberg Nilsson, who replaced longtime members Anders Iwers and Anders Jivarp after the latter two left the band in August 2021. The album also marks the band's return to recording as a five-piece after the previous album, Moment, was recorded as a six-piece.
