Nicolas Petrovic (born 21 November 1969) [1] is a French-Yugoslavian businessman and the Chief Executive of Siemens France since 2018.
He was born in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, near Paris, to a French mother and a Yugoslav father (Petrović is the common spelling). He has an older and younger sister. He gained a degree from ESCP Europe in 1991. [2] He worked overseas for two years for Compagnie Générale des Eaux. He gained a degree from INSEAD in 2003. [3]
Petrovic joined SNCF in 1994 as a junior marketing manager. He resigned from SNCF in 2000 to pursue a degree from INSEAD, which he gained in 2003. [4]
Petrovic joined Eurostar in August 2003 as Director of Customer Service. He became Chief Operating Officer (directeur général de l’exploitation d'Eurostar) in 2006, and replaced Richard Brown as the Chief Executive (directeur général d'Eurostar) in April 2010. [5] Eurostar has 1,700 employees, with 850 in London.
He was CEO (Président) of Siemens France from March 2018 to September 2021. [4] The company has 6,000 employees and a turnover of 1.8 billion euros in France in the fiscal year 2021.

Part of the TGV family, it was built with a smaller cross-section to fit the smaller loading gauge in Britain, was originally capable of operating on the UK third rail network, and has extensive fireproofing in case of fire in the tunnel. It is both the second longest—387 metres —and second fastest train in regular UK passenger service, operating at speeds of up to 300 kilometres per hour (186 mph).
The British Rail Class 374, also referred to as the Eurostar e320, is a type of electric multiple unit passenger train used on Eurostar services through the Channel Tunnel to serve destinations beyond the core routes to Paris and Brussels. They began to run passenger services in November 2015. The trains, owned by Eurostar International Limited, are sixteen-coach versions of the Siemens Velaro. Each train is 390.2 m (1,280 ft) long. The trains are compliant with the Technical Specifications for Interoperability (TSI).
