The Nkomati mine is a large mine in the north-east of South Africa near Machadodorp in Mpumalanga. Nkomati represents one of the largest nickel reserves in South Africa having estimated reserves of 408.6 million tonnes of ore grading 0.33% nickel. [1] The 408.6 million tonnes of ore contains 1.35 million tonnes of nickel metal. [1]

The Goro mine is a large nickel mine in the south of New Caledonia, near the township of Yaté, Prony Bay, in the South Province. It was owned by the Brazilian company Vale, who, after failing to sell it to Melbourne-based New Century Mining in June 2020 sold it to Prony Resources New Caledonia consortium in April 2021. The large mine and plant was opened at Goro in 2010 although it has had frequent problems and stoppages.

Rio Tuba represents one of the largest nickel reserves in the Philippines having an estimated reserve of 60.2 million tonnes of ore grading 1.27% nickel. The 60.2 million tonnes of ore contains 764,000 tonnes tonnes of nickel metal. Production started in 1969.

The Aganozersky mine is a large mine in the north of Russia in the Republic of Karelia. Aganozersky represents one of the largest nickel reserve in Russia having estimated reserves of 405 million tonnes of ore grading 0.15% nickel, 2.33 million oz of platinum, 1.66 million oz of palladium and 0.43 million oz of gold. The 405 million tonnes of ore contains 0.6 million tonnes of nickel metal. The mine contains a large chromium reserve as well, having estimated reserves of 181.6 million tonnes of ore grading 21.8% chromium. The 181.6 million tonnes of ore contains 38.7 million tonnes of chromium metal.

The Bình Thuận mine is a large mine in the south of Vietnam in the Bình Thuận Province. Bình Thuận represents one of the largest nickel reserve in Vietnam having estimated reserves of 520 million tonnes of ore grading 1% nickel. The 520 million tonnes of ore contains 5.2 million tonnes of nickel metal.
