Noida, short for New Okhla Industrial Development Authority, is a planned city located in Gautam Buddh Nagar district of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is a satellite city of Delhi and is a part of the National Capital Region (NCR) of India. As per provisional reports of Census of India, the population of Noida in 2011 was 642,381. The city is managed by New Okhla Industrial Development Authority (NOIDA). The district's administrative headquarters are in the nearby city of Greater Noida.
The Blue Line of the Delhi Metro system in Delhi consists of 50 metro stations from Noida Electronic City to Dwarka Sector 21 (Line 3), with a length of 56.61 kilometres and a branch line consisting of 8 stations from Vaishali to Yamuna Bank (Line 4), with a length of 8.74 kilometres.
Delhi has significant reliance on its transport infrastructure. The city seeks to develop a highly efficient public transport system with the introduction of the Delhi Metro, which is undergoing a rapid modernization and expansion as of 2006. The Noida City Centre also called is a station on the Blue Line of the Delhi Metro. The other terminal station on the Blue Line is Dwarka Sector 21 metro station and Vaishali metro station.
