They are distinguished from feature phones by their stronger hardware capabilities and extensive mobile operating systems, which facilitate wider software, internet, and multimedia functionality, alongside core phone functions such as voice calls and text messaging. The Nokia 3310 is a GSM mobile phone announced on 1 September 2000, and released in the fourth quarter of the year, replacing the popular Nokia 3210. It sold very well, being one of the most successful phones with 126 million units sold worldwide, and being one of Nokia's most iconic devices. The phone is still widely acclaimed and has gained a cult status due to its durability.

The Nokia 3200 is a mobile phone, part of the Nokia Expression (youth) series and announced on 12 September 2003. It is based on the Nokia Series 40 platform. The phone is an update of the Nokia 3100, while adding features from the Nokia 7250i. Like the Nokia 7250i, the phone has an integrated CIF camera. Compared to the Nokia 7250i, the Nokia 3200 was a more affordable, youth-oriented phone, while the 7250i was oriented more towards fashion-conscious users. Other features include an XHTML browser, alarm clock, flashlight, EDGE and FM stereo radio with a 128 × 128 12-bit (4096) color screen. The phone has multimedia features such as picture and text messaging. Features carried over from the Nokia 3100 include ringer profiles and voice memo capability. It also has Java games. The phone has an extensive calendar with a lunar calendar. The flashlight is located under the phone and can be activated by holding the "star" (asterisk) key. The camera is on the back of the phone. The 3200 can also play both polyphonic and monophonic ringtones. The phone's visual interface in its menu system is similar to that of the Nokia 3100, using large, static icons rather than animated ones.
The Nokia N91 is a smartphone produced by Nokia as part of their Nseries line of portable devices. It was announced on April 27, 2005 along with N70 and N90 as the first three Nseries devices.. The N91 ran on Symbian-based S60 3rd Edition. It was the first ever phone encompassing a 4 GB internal hard drive, allowing storage for 3,000 songs. The N91 is highly focused on music,. with dedicated music keys on the front which slide down to reveal the keypad. It also featured the industry-standard 3.5 mm headphone jack, and was anticipated as a major challenger to Apple, whose iPod dominated the industry. The design of the N91 is based on stainless steel with a matte finish.

The Nokia Morph is a concept mobile phone created by Finnish company Nokia. The concept, which was unveiled on February 25, 2008 at The Museum of Modern Art in New York City, was the product of a joint study into the future of mobile phones by the Nokia Research Center and the University of Cambridge's Nanoscience Centre. The device was presented as part of the museum's "Design and The Elastic Mind" exhibit. According to Bob Iannucci, Nokia's chief technology officer, the "Nokia Research Center is looking at ways to reinvent the form and function of mobile devices... The Morph concept shows what might be possible."
Nokia 5800 XpressMusic is a mid-range smartphone part of the XpressMusic line, announced by Nokia on 2 October 2008 in London and started shipping in November of that year. Code-named "Tube", it was the first touchscreen-equipped S60 device by Nokia - essentially it was the first device to run Symbian^1, also known as S60 5th Edition, the touch-specific S60-based platform created by the Symbian Foundation. The touchscreen features tactile feedback.

Also noted as a quad-band clamshell 3G smartphone, it was released in June 2008. It was sold through AT&T Mobility in the U.S. It is AT&T's replacement for the S60-powered N75. It is manufactured in three colors, metallic silver, black, and red.It was never being a global model, and therefore it was being sold exclusively for T-mobile networks. Models were RM-324 for North America and RM-400 for Europe.
The Nokia 6210 is a mobile phone made by Nokia. It was introduced at the CeBIT fair in Hanover in February 2000 succeeding Nokia 6110. In addition to calling and SMS messaging, the phone has many other features, such as an alarm clock, a HSCSD modem, a WAP web client, 3 games, a calculator, a 'to-do' list application, a calendar, infrared connectivity, a voice recorder and a stopwatch. In keeping with Nokia's practice of selling phones that the user can customize the physical appearance of, the 6210 is minimally customizable. The plastic detail below the keypad, which Nokia called the 'Personal Badge' is removable. For a time, Nokia would send replacements, screen-printed with text of the customer's choosing. These were free for a promotional period.
Nokia Lumia 800 is a smartphone from Nokia, first unveiled on 26 October 2011 at the Nokia World 2011 event. It originally runs on Windows Phone 7.5 "Mango"—it was Nokia's first device to run the Windows Phone operating system and marked the company's shift from Symbian for their smartphones. It was Nokia's flagship upon the original release in Europe in November 2011, and was thus also a highly important product for Nokia's mobile phone business.

Nokia Lumia 920 is a smartphone developed by Nokia that runs the Windows Phone 8 operating system. It was announced on September 5, 2012, and was first released on November 2, 2012. It has a 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Krait CPU and a 4.5" IPS TFT LCD display, as well as a high-sensitivity capacitive touchscreen that can be used with gloves and fingernails; the display is covered by curved Gorilla Glass and has a 9 ms response time. The phone features an 8.7-megapixel PureView camera with OIS; it was the first smartphone to offer that technology, as well as to support Qi inductive charging. The phone comes with 32 GB of internal storage, but has no expandable storage.
The Nokia Lumia 820 is a smartphone designed, developed and marketed by Nokia. It is the successor to the Lumia 800 and is one of the first Nokia phones to implement Windows Phone 8 alongside the Nokia Lumia 920. Although sharing a similar appearance with the Lumia 800, the Lumia 820 is a major overhaul over its predecessor, sporting a 4.3 inches (110 mm) diagonal OLED display with scratch resistant glass, though lacking Gorilla Glass protection, 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, and an 8.7-megapixel camera. The phone will come with LTE connectivity and a wireless-charging option. The 820 is the first Nokia Windows Phone OS based smartphone to embed a microSD card slot.

An improved model with 3G support was released on 29 October 2017.
