North Durham Academy is a secondary school with academy status based in Stanley in County Durham, England.
The school was formed in September 2011, when Greencroft Business and Enterprise Community School (also known as Greencroft Comprehensive School and just Greencroft School) and Stanley School of Technology (former South Stanley Comprehensive School) formally merged. Tanfield School opted not to take part in the merger and remains a separate entity.
It opened its new £30 million campus in September 2013, but was not officially opened until March 2014 by the Duke of York, KG. [1]
In 2013 and 2015, Ofsted inspectors rated the academy as 'requires improvement'. [2]
Annfield Plain is a village in County Durham, in England. It is situated on a plateau between the towns of Stanley, 4 km (2.5 mi) to the north-east, and Consett, 8 km (5.0 mi) to the west. According to the 2001 census, Annfield Plain has a population of 3,569. By the time of the 2011 Census Annfield Plain had become a ward of Stanley parish. The ward had a population of 7,774. Along with much of the surrounding area, Annfield Plain's history lies in coal mining. While the industry collapsed in the 1980s and 90s, its effects are still apparent both in the landscape and in folk memory.
Harelaw is a village in County Durham, in England. It is situated on the B6168 road to the north of Annfield Plain and Catchgate, south of Flint Hill and east of Dipton.

Harris Academy St John's Wood is a secondary school in St John's Wood, North London), that was re-named in 2017. It is a 7 form-entry non-selective co-educational academy. Its predecessor Quintin Kynaston was founded in 1969 by the merger of Quintin Grammar School and Kynaston School. The earlier schools, which were built on the same site, opened in September 1956. It has been an academy school since November 2011. The school was rated as "Outstanding" in 2008 and 2011 by Ofsted, the English schools' inspectorate; however, in 2014 it was rated "Requires Improvement", and in April 2017 it was rated "Inadequate" and as a consequence was placed in special measures. It joined the Harris Federation Multi-Academy Trust in September 2017. In 2019, Ofsted ranked the Academy as 'good'.
Park View School is an academy and sixth form in Chester-le-Street, County Durham for students aged 11 to 18. Year 7 and 8 students spend the first two years at the North Lodge site two miles to the north of the Church Chare site. During 2012 to 2013, it underwent a £1 million refurbishment.

Burnt Mill Academy is a secondary school academy and specialist performing arts college situated on First Avenue in Harlow, Essex, England. The school originally opened in May 1962 as Burnt Mill Comprehensive School, de jure keeping this name until academisation in 2011. In 2003, it became a specialist performing arts college, specialising in dance, drama and music. It joined the Confucius institute programme in 2007, partnering with Suzhou Lida Middle School in Jiangsu, China. This granted the school an International School Award. It gained academy status in 2011 and formed the Burnt Mill Academy Trust (BMAT) in 2013. BMAT has since become a multi-academy trust, with 12 member schools as of 2021.

Thorp Academy is a large 11–18 secondary Academy in Ryton Tyne & Wear, England. The academy was established in the 19th century by Charles Thorp who went on to found Durham University. The site that Thorp Academy now stands on is the site of the original school established by Charles Thorp. In the early 2010's, Gateshead Council merged Ryton Comprehensive School and Hookergate School in High Spen. With the two schools merging, the school was renamed Charles Thorp Comprehensive School. The school later converted into an academy sponsored by Northern Education Trust and was renamed as Thorp Academy.
