The 1st Album is the debut studio album by German duo Modern Talking, released on 1 April 1985 by Hansa Records. The album reached number one in Germany on 27 May 1985, spending four weeks atop the chart and 18 weeks within the top 10. It was eventually certified platinum by the Bundesverband Musikindustrie (BVMI), denoting shipments in excess of 500,000 copies in Germany.
"First Day of My Life" is a song by British singer Melanie C. It was released on 30 September 2005 in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland as the third and final single from Melanie C's third solo album, Beautiful Intentions (2005). The song peaked at number one in Germany, Spain, and Switzerland, being certified platinum in Germany and gold in Switzerland. The song is Melanie C's most successful single in continental Europe, spending two years in different European charts. The single has sold over 1.5 million copies worldwide.
"Daddy Cool" is a song recorded by Boney M. and included on their debut album Take the Heat off Me. It was a 1976 hit and a staple of disco music, and became Boney M.'s first hit in the United Kingdom. The song was produced and co-written by the group's founder Frank Farian, who also provided the male voice parts on the record.

"Lemon Tree" is a song by German band Fool's Garden from their third album, Dish of the Day (1995). The band's lead vocalist, Peter Freudenthaler, said that he wrote the song on a Sunday afternoon when he was waiting for his girlfriend. "Lemon Tree" was released as a single in November 1995 and became an international hit the following year. The song reached number 26 on the UK Singles Chart and remained at number one for four weeks in Germany. It also reached number one in Austria, Iceland, Ireland, Norway, and Sweden.
"Lessons in Love" is a single from the English band Level 42, released in 1986 from the album Running in the Family, issued one year later. This single is the band's biggest hit in their homeland, where it reached number three on the UK Singles Chart, and internationally, entering the top 10 in numerous countries, reaching the number-one spot in five of them: Spain, Germany, South Africa, Switzerland, and Finland. "Lessons in Love" is also one of the few singles from the band that broke into the Billboard Hot 100, where it reached number 12 in 1987. It is the first of five singles from their 1987 album, Running in the Family, and it made way for the success of other singles from the album. In 2012, David Quantick described it in Q magazine as 'one of the best singles of the 80s'.
"Such a Shame" is a song written by Mark Hollis for the English band Talk Talk's second album It's My Life (1984). It was released as the album's second single and went on to becoming a top 10 hit across Europe.
"You're My Heart, You're My Soul" is the first single by German duo Modern Talking released off their debut album The 1st Album. The single was released on 29 October 1984 but entered the top 40 in Germany on 21 January and entered the top 10 at no. 9 in Germany on 28 January 1985, almost 3 months after its release date. It took another 5 weeks for the single to reach the top of the German single chart, it spent six weeks at the number one position in Germany and total of 25 weeks within the German Single Chart eventually reaching a gold status for selling well over 250,000 units at home. "You're My Heart, You're My Soul" is considered their best-selling single to date with worldwide sales said to exceed 8 million copies.
"Bailando" is a song by Belgian group Paradisio. It was released in 1996 as the lead single from their debut album, Paradisio. The song is produced by Patrick Samoy and Luc Rigaux and reached number-one in Italy, Denmark, Norway, Finland and Sweden. It peaked at number 2 in Belgium. In Sweden, it was the best selling single by being triple platinum. The song was a hit in most countries across Europe during the summer of 1997.
"Apologize" is the debut single written by OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder for OneRepublic's debut album Dreaming Out Loud. It was released as the lead single of that album. Timbaland remixed the song for his second studio album, Shock Value (2007). This version, also produced by Greg Wells, included an extra line of percussion, new backing vocals, and added sound samples, in addition to sound mixing and a few other minor changes. The guitar solo after the second verse was omitted. The song was the biggest radio airplay hit in the history of the Mainstream Top 40 chart in North America, with 10,394 plays in one week, until its record was broken by Leona Lewis's "Bleeding Love", which was also co-written by Tedder. The song was a major hit internationally, reaching number one in 16 countries, including Australia, Austria, Canada, Germany, Italy, New Zealand, Sweden, Turkey, and the Netherlands, as well as staying at number one for eight consecutive weeks on the Billboard Pop 100 chart. The song peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100, staying in the top-10 for 25 weeks, and spent 13 weeks at number one in Canada.
"Cheri, Cheri Lady" is the only single released from Modern Talking's second album Let's Talk About Love, and it was the third single in a row that peaked at number one on the German singles chart, after "You're My Heart, You're My Soul" and "You Can Win If You Want". "Cheri, Cheri Lady" was released on 2 September 1985, but peaked at No. 1 in Germany on 14 October 1985. The single spent four weeks at the top and a total of 24 weeks on the singles chart in Germany and eventually went gold, selling well over 250,000 units there.
Stadtaffe is the first and only solo album by German musician Peter Fox. Released 26 September 2008, the standard version contains twelve tracks, four of which have been released as singles. Fox performed the single "Schwarz zu blau" at the Bundesvision Song Contest 2009 in Potsdam while representing Berlin, and won, becoming the first person to win the contest twice. The album was certified 6× platinum for shipping 1.2 million copies in Germany and is the third-most-downloaded album of all time there, selling 100,000 copies from downloads only.

An instant success, it debuted atop the single charts in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland and sold more than 100,000 copies throughout its chart run.
"Ma Chérie" is a song by Swiss DJ and producer DJ Antoine taken from his studio album Welcome to DJ Antoine. It features Serbian DJ-duo, The Beat Shakers and features the vocals of Swiss singer-songwriter Maurizio Pozzi. The song became a top-ten hit in Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Russia, Slovakia, Poland and Switzerland. The original song was created in the 2007 by The Beat Shakers with the voice of the singer Alberto, the lyrics by Danica Krstajić and the music by Boris Krstajić.
"Sonnentanz" is the debut single by Austrian electronic music duo Klangkarussell. The song was written and produced by Tobias Rieser and Adrian Held. It was originally published through the duo's SoundCloud on 29 September 2011. It was officially released as a single on 23 July 2012 digitally with remixes through the label Stil Vor Talent. After the track became a viral hit and entered the charts by downloads only, it was released physically in German speaking countries on 14 September 2012 (CD) and 27 September 2012 (vinyl). The song has reached the top 10 in 6 countries. A second version, titled "Sonnentanz ", features vocals from Will Heard. This version was released in the United Kingdom on 15 August 2013. Both tracks were included in their 2014 debut album Netzwerk. A third version, titled "Sun Don't Shine" and featuring vocals from American singer Jaymes Young, was released on 31 March 2015 in North America.

Written and produced by frequent contributor Dieter Bohlen, it was released as the lead single from Klaws's second album Here I Am (2004), while serving as the theme song for the television film Held der Gladiatoren (2003). "I Still Burn" is a song by German recording artist Tobias Regner, the winner of the third season of the reality television talent show Deutschland sucht den Superstar, broadcast in 2006. It was written by Jess Cates and Peter Wright and produced by Brix Ingo Politz, and Bernd Wendlandt, marking the first time, a DSDS coronation song was not produced by judge Dieter Bohlen. Released as Regner's debut single on March 24, 2006 in German-speaking Europe, it became the biggest-selling single in two years to debut at the charts, where it reached number one in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland, making him the first DSDS winner to top the charts in all three regions. "I Still Burn" was eventually certified gold by the Bundesverband Musikindustrie (BVMI) and became Germany's 13th best-selling single of 2006. It was later included on Regner's debut album Straight (2006).
