Shenzhen is a major city in Guangdong Province, China; it forms part of the Pearl River Delta megalopolis, bordering Hong Kong to the south, Huizhou to the northeast, and Dongguan to the northwest. It holds sub-provincial administrative status, with powers slightly less than those of a province.

It is located on the east bank of the Pearl River near Huangtian and Fuyong villages in Bao'an District, and is 32 km (20 mi) northwest of the city center. It is a hub for Shenzhen Airlines and Shenzhen Donghai Airlines and for cargo airline SF Airlines, and a focus city for China Southern Airlines and Hainan Airlines. The airport also serves as an Asian-Pacific cargo hub for UPS Airlines. The airport is undergoing major expansion with a second runway completed and opened in 2011 and a new terminal which opened in 2013.

The Hangzhou–Fuzhou–Shenzhen passenger-dedicated railway refers to the dual-track, electrified, high-speed rail lines (HSR) in service along the southeastern coast of China, linking the Yangtze River Delta on the East China Sea and Pearl River Delta on the South China Sea. It is one of the eight arterial high-speed rail corridors that form the backbone of China's HSR network. The southeast coast is the only region of high-speed rail construction where no previous conventional railroads existed. Hence, the high-speed rail lines built on the southeast coast will, for the most part, carry both passenger and freight traffic, and will not be passenger-dedicated lines that comprise most of the other HSR corridors in China.
Wang Dongning is a former Chinese international footballer who represented Shandong FC where he played as a Defender or Midfielder before having short stints at Happy Valley AA, Shenzhen and Qingdao Hainiu. While internationally he represented China in the 1984 Asian Cup and the 1994 Asian Games where he aided the team to a runners-up spot.

Zhongzhou Holdings Financial Center is a 303-metre (994-foot) supertall skyscraper in Nanshan district, Shenzhen, Guangdong, China. Construction started in 2009 and was completed in 2014. The building is mixed-use and contains a 340-room Marriott hotel with a large atrium in the upper floors. The atrium is clearly visible from the outside.
Binhai Boulevard (Chinese:滨海大道) is a major expressway in Shenzhen, China. It runs from Nanshan Boulevard in Nanshan and runs along much of the length of Shenzhen Bay Park and eventually joins Binhe Road when it ends at Futian. Over 7 kilometers of the road was built on land reclaimed from Shenzhen Bay. It is the southernmost major road in Shenzhen.
