Oxysterol-binding protein-related protein 3 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the OSBPL3 gene. [5] [6]
This gene encodes a member of the oxysterol-binding protein (OSBP) family, a group of intracellular lipid receptors. Most members contain an N-terminal pleckstrin homology domain and a highly conserved C-terminal OSBP-like sterol-binding domain. Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified. [6]
The liver X receptor (LXR) is a member of the nuclear receptor family of transcription factors and is closely related to nuclear receptors such as the PPARs, FXR and RXR. Liver X receptors (LXRs) are important regulators of cholesterol, fatty acid, and glucose homeostasis. LXRs were earlier classified as orphan nuclear receptors, however, upon discovery of endogenous oxysterols as ligands they were subsequently deorphanized.
Sterol regulatory element-binding transcription factor 1 (SREBF1) also known as sterol regulatory element-binding protein 1 (SREBP-1) is a protein that in humans is encoded by the SREBF1 gene.
Phospholipid transfer protein is a protein that in humans is encoded by the PLTP gene.
Non-specific lipid-transfer protein also known as sterol carrier protein 2 (SCP-2) or propanoyl-CoA C-acyltransferase is a protein that in humans is encoded by the SCP2 gene.
ATP-binding cassette sub-family G member 1 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the ABCG1 gene. It is a homolog of the well-known Drosophila gene white.
CD2-associated protein is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CD2AP gene.
Syntaxin-binding protein 2 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the STXBP2 gene.
The oxysterol-binding protein (OSBP)-related proteins (ORPs) are a family of lipid transfer proteins (LTPs). Concretely, they constitute a family of sterol and phosphoinositide binding and transfer proteins in eukaryotes that are conserved from yeast to humans. They are lipid-binding proteins implicated in many cellular processes related with oxysterol, including signaling, vesicular trafficking, lipid metabolism, and nonvesicular sterol transport.
Oxysterol-binding protein-related protein 5 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the OSBPL5 gene.
VAMP-Associated Protein A is a protein that in humans is encoded by the VAPA gene. Together with VAPB and VAPC it forms the VAP protein family. They are integral endoplasmic reticulum membrane proteins of the type II and are ubiquitous among eukaryotes.
25-hydroxycholesterol 7-alpha-hydroxylase also known as oxysterol and steroid 7-alpha-hydroxylase is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the CYP7B1 gene. This gene encodes a member of the cytochrome P450 superfamily of enzymes. The cytochrome P450 proteins are monooxygenases which catalyze many reactions involved in drug metabolism and synthesis of cholesterol, steroids and other lipids.
Oxysterol-binding protein 1 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the OSBP gene.
Oxysterol-binding protein-related protein 11 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the OSBPL11 gene.
Oxysterol-binding protein 2 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the OSBP2 gene.
45 kDa calcium-binding protein is a protein that in humans is encoded by the SDF4 gene.
Oxysterol-binding protein-related protein 1 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the OSBPL1A gene.
Oxysterol-binding protein-related protein 8 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the OSBPL8 gene.
Oxysterol-binding protein-related protein 2 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the OSBPL2 gene.
Syntaxin 3, also known as STX3, is a protein which in humans is encoded by the STX3 gene.
Oxysterol binding protein-like 9 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the OSBPL9 gene.
