The Oceania Zonal Volleyball Association (OZVA) is one of five zonal associations of governance in volleyball within the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC). It governs indoor volleyball and beach volleyball in Oceania. [2] OZVA consists of 20 national federation members which are full members with the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) and 4 associate members. Among these, 17 national federations represent the National Olympic Committees (NOCs) of their respective countries and dependent territories, allowing them to participate in the Olympic Games. [3]

OZVA consists of the national volleyball federations of Oceania and run zonal championships including the Oceania Men's Volleyball Championship and Oceania Women's Volleyball Championship. It also promotes regional volleyball, supports the creation of national federations affiliated with FIVB, ensures compliance with FIVB regulations, plans annual activities, and reports competition results to the FIVB and confederations. [4]

The current president, Hugh Graham, president of the Cook Islands Sports and National Olympic Committee, was elected as OZVA's president for the 2024–2028 term in Honolulu, Hawaii, United States, in March 2024. [5] [6] His election also secured him the position of vice-president within the continental governing body, AVC. [7]

The FIVB Senior World Rankings is a ranking system for men's and women's national teams in volleyball. The teams of the member nations of Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB), volleyball's world governing body, are ranked based on their game results with the most successful teams being ranked highest. A points system is used, with points being awarded based on the results of all FIVB-recognised full international matches. The rankings are used in international competitions to define the seeded teams and arrange them in pools. Specific procedures for seeding and pooling are established by the FIVB in each competition's formula, but the method usually employed is the serpentine system.

The Asian Volleyball Confederation, commonly known by the acronym AVC, is the continental governing body for the sports of indoor, beach, and grass volleyball in Asia and Oceania. It has 65 member associations, located in the Asia-Pacific region, but excludes four transcontinental countries with territory in both Asia and Europe – Azerbaijan, Georgia, Russia, and Türkiye – along with Armenia, Cyprus, and Israel, which are members of the CEV.

41 Asian and Oceanian nations including 2 non IOC members registered to take part in the 2010–12 Continental Beach Volleyball Cup. The top two from each subzone group qualify for the Zonal tournaments, with the top three from each zonal tournament advancing to the continental championship.

The Philippines women's national volleyball team represents the Philippines in international volleyball competitions and friendly matches, governed by the Philippine National Volleyball Federation since 2021.

The 2014–2016 AVC Beach Volleyball Continental Cup were a beach volleyball double-gender event. The winners of the event qualified for the 2016 Summer Olympics

Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas, Inc. was the national sport association for volleyball in the Philippines between 2015 and January 2021. It was recognized by the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC), the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) and provisionally recognized by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB). In 2021, the newly formed Philippine National Volleyball Federation became recognized by the POC, AVC and FIVB as the national sport association for volleyball in the Philippines.

It governs indoor volleyball and beach volleyball in Southeast Asia. SAVA consists of 11 national federation members which are full members with the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB). All of them also represent the National Olympic Committees (NOCs) of their respective countries and dependent territories, allowing them to participate in the Olympic Games.

The AVC Men's Champions League, previously the AVC Cup Men's Club Tournament, and Asian Men's Club Volleyball Championship, is an annual continental club volleyball competition organized by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC), the sport's continental governing body. The competition was first contested in China 1999. It was not held in 2003 and 2020 due to 2002–2004 SARS outbreak and COVID-19 pandemic respectively.

The 2018 Asian Women's U17 Volleyball Championship, also referred to as the 2018 SMM Est Cola Asian Girls' U17 Volleyball Championship for sponsorship reasons, was the twelfth edition of the Asian Youth Women Volleyball Championship, a biennial international volleyball tournament organised by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC), that year with the Thailand Volleyball Association (TVA), for the under-17 women's national teams of Asia. The tournament was held in Nakhon Pathom, Thailand, from 20 to 27 May 2018.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Volleyball at the 2024 Summer Olympics</span>

The volleyball tournaments at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris were held from 27 July to 11 August 2024. 24 volleyball teams and 48 beach volleyball teams participated in the tournament. Indoor volleyball competitions occurred at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles with the beach volleyball tournament staged at the Eiffel Tower Stadium in Champ de Mars.

The 2022 Asian Women's Volleyball Cup, so-called 2022 AVC Cup for Women was the seventh edition of the Asian Cup, a biennial international volleyball tournament organised by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) with Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF). The tournament was held at PhilSports Arena, Pasig, Philippines from 21 to 29 August 2022.

The men's qualification for the Olympic beach volleyball tournament will occur between January 2023 and June 2024. The competition will comprise a total of 24 men's beach volleyball pairs coming from different NOCs, similar to those in the previous editions; each NOC can enter a maximum of two pairs in the men's tournament. As the host nation, France reserves the direct spot for the men's beach volleyball pair.

The West Asian Volleyball Association (WAVA) is one of five zonal associations of governance in volleyball within the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC). It governs indoor volleyball and beach volleyball in West Asia. WAVA consists of 12 national federation members which are full members with the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB). All of them also represent the National Olympic Committees (NOCs) of their respective countries and dependent territories, allowing them to participate in the Olympic Games.
