Octavian Cuciuc (born 13 September 1977) is a Moldovan wrestler. He competed in the men's freestyle 58 kg at the 2000 Summer Olympics. [1]
Moldova competed in the Summer Olympic Games as an independent nation for the first time at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, United States. Previously, Moldovan athletes competed for the Unified Team at the 1992 Summer Olympics.

Octavian Guţu is an Olympic swimmer from Moldova who swam for his native country at the 2004 Olympics. He then joined the French team and represented Racing Club de France RCF in national (interclubs) swimming meets. In the 2006 Tours, he became an unofficial French champion in the 4x100 Freestyle relay. The same year, he won a gold medal for his Panthéon-Assas University. He has also swum internationally for Romania at the 2007 World Championship Melbourne in the 4x100 Medley Relay and classified for 8th place in the world. In 2007, he joined the Cannet66 swim club, where he trained with Philippe Lucas, a famous French coach, and his young protégé Laure Manaudou who won three Olympic medals including gold in the 400m freestyle, silver in the 800m free, and bronze in the 100m back.

Ruslan Bodișteanu is a Moldovan freestyle wrestler, who competed in the men's lightweight and welterweight categories. He has held two World Junior Championship titles, and later represented his nation Moldova in two editions of the Olympic Games. Throughout his sporting career, Bodisteanu has been training under his personal coach and mentor Nicolae Oreol for the Olympic Sports Club in Chișinău before he became an assistant coach of the national wrestling team. Bodisteanu is also the twin brother of Moldova's current youth and sports minister Octavian Bodişteanu.
