Octavio Pisano is a Mexican American actor. [1] He currently plays Joe Velasco on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit , and prior to that was in Coyote and the indie film Ms. Purple. [2] He has also appeared in one episode of the Law & Order: Organized Crime spin-off. [3] He was promoted to series regular in SVU after his first three appearances. [4] The character of Velasco was introduced in the 23rd season of SVU as an undercover cop from Ciudad Juarez. [5]
From 2014 to 2017, he starred as Julius Escada Jr. in the Oprah Winfrey Network prime time soap opera, If Loving You Is Wrong . In 2019, Pisano was cast in the ABC reboot of New York Undercover . [6] In 2021, he starred in the Paramount+ crime drama series, Coyote .
