Odense is the third largest city in Denmark and the largest city on the island of Funen. As of 1 January 2024, the city proper had a population of 183,763 while Odense Municipality had a population of 209,078, making it the fourth largest municipality in Denmark. Eurostat and OECD have used a definition for the Metropolitan area of Odense, which includes all municipalities in the Province of Funen, with a total population of 504,066 as of 1 July 2022.

University Press of Southern Denmark is Denmark's largest university press and was founded in 1966 as Odense University Press. The press publishes books from the world of science in the broadest sense of the word. Its authors are mainly academics from the University of Southern Denmark and from Denmark's other centres of higher education. The University Press of Southern Denmark also publishes a wide range of textbooks and teaching materials, as well as periodicals.
The University Library of Southern Denmark is a public research library at the University of Southern Denmark in Denmark. and has branches in six cities, primarily in the region of Southern Denmark and Copenhagen. The library primarily serves researchers and students at the University of Southern Denmark, but users also include businesses, organisations and educational institutions such as upper secondary schools. SDU’s library provides access to books, journals and periodicals, newspapers, maps, sheet music, microfilm and a wide range of electronic resources. The library is home to a physical collection of nearly one and a half million volumes and provides access to over 200,000 electronic journals and periodicals, approximately 750,000 e-books and more than 500 different online databases as of June 2022. The collections primarily cover the areas of research and teaching offered at the University of Southern Denmark, but almost all subject areas are represented in the library’s collections.
Syddansk Musikkonservatorium - Danish National Academy of Music, as it is now known, is located in Esbjerg, Denmark, opposite St Nikolaj Church. Founded in 1946 as a local private initiative, it was first known as Vestjysk Musikkonservatorium. In 1972, it was taken over by the national authorities.

The South Campus, also known as KUA, is one of University of Copenhagen's four campuses in Copenhagen, Denmark. It is situated on Amager just south of Njalsgade, between Ørestad Boulevard and Amager Fælledvej, forming the northernmost part of Ørestad. It is home to the Faculty of Humanities, the Faculty of Theology and the Faculty of Law. The campus is home to approximately 15,000 students.
Frederiksberg Campus is one of the four main campuses of University of Copenhagen in Copenhagen, Denmark. It is located in Frederiksberg and is home to large parts of the Faculty of Science' activities within the fields of natural science and biosciences as well as part of the School of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, including the University Hospital for Companion Animals. The main campus is located on the west side of Bülowsvej, on both sides of Thorvaldsensvej and Rolighedsvej. It occupies the former grounds of the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University (KVL) which was merged into the University of Copenhagen in 2007. The main building at Bülowsvej No. 17 is from 1895.
Taastrup Campus is a university campus operated by University of Copenhagen (UCPH) in Taastrup on the western outskirts of Copenhagen, Denmark. The campus is home to space-consuming activities of the School of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science and the Department of Plant and Environmental Sciences whose Section for Crop Sciences along with experimental fields, greenhouses and an extensive pometum.

Louise Nyholm Kallestrup is a Danish historian. She is a professor at the University of Southern Denmark (Odense) and the director of its Centre for Medieval and Renaissance Studies who specializes in the Early Modern Period. Best known for her comparative research on witchcraft trials in Denmark and Italy. Kallestrup has also written widely on such related topics as gender in the contexts of legal proceedings and urbanization, and on demonology and is a frequent cultural commentator in the Danish press and on radio.
Sergey I. Bozhevolnyi is a Russian-Danish physicist. He is currently a professor and the leader for the Centre for Nano Optics at the University of Southern Denmark.
