Ohio's 7th senatorial district

Ohio's 7th senatorial district has consisted of portions of southwestern Ohio, and currently consists of Warren County and portions of the counties of Butler and Hamilton. It encompasses Ohio House districts 27, 55 and 56. It has a Cook PVI of R+15. The district was represented by the Senate President from 1997 to 2002 with Senator Richard Finan. Its current Ohio Senator is Republican Steve Wilson. He resides in Maineville, a city located in Warren County, Ohio.

Thomas A. Raga is an American business executive and former politician of the Republican Party who represented the 67th district in the Ohio House of Representatives. In February 2006, he was named by Ken Blackwell as his running mate in the May 2, 2006, primary for governor of Ohio. Blackwell and Raga won the Republican nomination, but lost the November general election to Ted Strickland and Lee Fisher 60-36%.

The 2016 United States Senate election in Ohio was held November 8, 2016, to elect a member of the United States Senate to represent the State of Ohio, concurrently with the 2016 U.S. presidential election, as well as other elections to the United States Senate in other states and elections to the United States House of Representatives and various state and local elections. The close of registration for electors in the primary election was December 16, 2015, and the primary election took place on March 15, 2016. Incumbent Republican U.S. Senator Rob Portman faced former Democratic Governor Ted Strickland. Green Party nominee Joseph DeMare was also on the ballot along with two other independent candidates and one officially declared write-in candidate.

Ohio's 5th senatorial district centers on Dayton and currently consists of the counties of Miami and Preble along with portions of the counties of Darke and Montgomery. It encompasses Ohio House districts 39, 43 and 80. It has a Cook PVI of D+6. Its current Ohio Senator is Republican Steve Huffman.

A special election to the United States House of Representatives for Ohio's 8th congressional district was held to determine the successor to John Boehner, who resigned his seat on October 31, 2015. Republican Governor of Ohio John Kasich set the primary election for March 15, 2016, and the general election for June 7. The winner of the June special election ran for reelection in November 2016 but served the remainder of Boehner's 13th two-year term, which ended in early January 2017.

The 2022 Ohio gubernatorial election was held on November 8, 2022, to elect the governor of Ohio. Incumbent Republican Governor Mike DeWine won re-election to a second term in a landslide, defeating Democratic nominee Nan Whaley, the former mayor of Dayton with 62.4% of the vote. DeWine's 25-point victory marked the continuation of a trend in which every incumbent Republican governor of Ohio since 1994 has won re-election by a double-digit margin.
