It was built in 1890 and is a two-story, rectangular common brick building. It has two main bays on the east gable end facade. It served as the city's sole fire fighting facility until the 1920s. The station currently houses 2 ambulances to complement the fire fighting apparatus located at the station across the street.

The church was dedicated on June 24, 1883, replacing the previous structure built in the late 18th century, after the floor collapsed on Christmas Eve of 1880. Baily House is a historic home located at Newark in New Castle County, Delaware. It was built about 1835 and is a 2 1⁄2-story "L"-shaped frame dwelling with a three-bay front facade. It was probably constructed as a single-family dwelling that may have been formerly connected to a row of matching houses. Some believe that it was moved from Baltimore to Newark in the mid-19th century. It was the residence of Miss Harriet Baily, who headed the Art Department of the University of Delaware from 1928 until 1956.
